Congrats to Officer Sole Catch of the Day Sept 7 th - Officers were dispatched to a hit and run collision at 4700 South Lewis Ave. David Boleman collided with the vehicle in front of him, pushing it into another vehicle and that vehicle into another. Boleman fled the collision scene, abandoning his car on Birmingham near East 47 th Place, and took off on foot. Officer Mark Sole, front left, was recognized as the Oral Roberts University Officer of the Year on September 9. Officer Sole started his TPD career on July 2, 2001. He has served in the Riverside Traffic Unit for the past 7 years, receiving numerous awards and commendations for his work. He is a nationally recognized traffic reconstuctionist. He shares his traffic investigation skills as a local and regional instructor. Congratulations Mark! Have a question? Boleman went through several back yards to a residence near 2700 East 49 th Street. Boleman sought assistance from the suspicious resident who told him he could not help him. Boleman barged in the residence, holding the residents and their two grandchildren at knifepoint. He cut their phone line and threatened the children, saying he would hurt them if the residents did not do as he demanded. Be aware of suspicious activity such as people going outside to smoke, short term traffic, unusual ventilation or exhaust systems. Always properly secure all debris when transporting to the landfill. City Traffic Ordinance States: No vehicle shall be driven or moved on any street or alley unless such vehicle is so constructed and loaded or covered as to prevent its contents from dropping, shifting, leaking or otherwise escaping or spilling there from upon the streets or alleys. Catch of the Day (Continued from Page 2) Boleman took their truck, abandoned it nearby, and again fled on foot. At 4600 South Columbia Place, Boleman unsuccessfully attempted to take another vehicle at knifepoint. Boleman once more fled on foot. Officers Todd Taylor and Ben Brandt found Boleman in a backyard near 4600 South Delaware Ave. He was taken into custody by Officer Jason Edwards. Boleman was booked on two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, four counts of kidnapping, and three counts of hit and run.
