Due to manufacturing defects, damaged lids or poorly stacking lid types, reliability of your LidSaver may be less than 100%. Under these rare conditions your customer is still able to easily retrieve a lid. 1. Before loading lids, check your lids to be sure they match the manufacturer and lid number noted on the lid plate label. 2. Flake lids prior to loading to separate any lids pressed together during packaging. 3. Cup lids must be loaded with the top of the lid stack facing forward. 4. If tabbed lids are being used, orient all lid tabs either up (12:00) or down (6:00) to avoid interference with lid claws.

Trouble Shooting: Refer to this chart to determine possible reasons for LidSaver malfunction. Contact Vollrath at 800-628-0832 for any additional support necessary. More than one lid releases when opening door. Possible Causes: Your lid may be incorrect for settings provided. Solution: Read label on lid plate. If this does not match your lids, order a Lid Change Kit to reset Lidsaver for your new lid. Possible Causes: LidSaver may be overfilled with lids. When lids are compressed too tightly from overstocking they will not dispense well. Instruct staff to not overstock lids. Solution: Remove lids and flake the stack. Avoid overstocking lids when loading. Possible Causes: Pager flipper not returning to proper working position after loading lid stack. Solution: Using warm soapy water thoroughly saturate pager and flipper until flipper operates freely. Possible Causes: Pager not securely fastened down. Solution: Grasp each Pager to see if any are loose and allow movement within their adjustment slot. Order a Tune-up Kit from Vollrath to set these components accurately. One lid does not release consistently when opening door. Possible Causes: Your lid may be incorrect for settings provided Solution: Read label on lid plate. If this does not match your lids, order a Lid Change Kit for your specific lid to reset LidSaver for your new lid. Possible Causes: LidSaver may be overfilled with lids. When lids are compressed too tightly from overstocking they will not dispense well. Instruct staff to not overstock lids. Solution: Remove lids and flake the stack. Avoid overstocking lids when loading. Possible Causes: Loss of or damage to lid claws Solution: Both claws are intended to have pivoting motion in the vertical direction. Look for horizontal motion on one or the other claw. If horizontal motion is apparent tighten or replace claw screws. Look for: 1. Sheared lid claw pivot screw. Replace using 6-32 nylon flat head machine screw. Replacement door pivot screws are attached in front of the piston behind the piston lid plate. 2. Broken lid claw 3. Broken door rib. Order parts as needed. Possible Causes: Piston does not freely move to most forward position Solution: Piston or Piston Spring may be fouled. Clean inside of tube. Apply furniture wax to bottom of tube to help piston operate more freely. If this does not eliminate the problem, contact Vollrath at 800-628-0832 for repair or replacement. LidSaver Loading Procedures: Getting the Best Dispensing Possible from Your LidSaver Single Lid Dispenser PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE LOADING LIDS. The LidSaver is a welcome addition to our self-service beverage presentation. Overloading the LidSaver with lids will cause the LidSaver to not dispense our lids the way it was intended to. Understanding and following this simple procedure will result in providing safe and clean lids to your customers. 1. We Start With Excellent Lids. 2. What Happens When You Overload the LidSaver? 3. How to Get the Best Out of Your LidSaver. Our lids stack well and evenly (See Illustration A). Taking the time to load them properly into the LidSaver is important for good dispensing. Lids are jammed together (See Illustration B) and it may dispense two or more lids. Lids that are jammed into the LidSaver will flatten and crack on the edge which wastes the lids. Lids that are jammed into the LidSaver will stick together and not dispense well. Your LidSaver dispenser holds a sleeve of lids which is approximately 100 lids. Do not insert any more lids than the dispenser naturally and easily accepts. When inserting a partially filled LidSaver push new lids gently into place until you feel light resistance and then stop (See Illustration C ). Your Lidsaver dispensers are factory set to dispense the specific lids which are identified on the round Pusher Plate located inside the dispenser. Load only these lids into your LidSaver dispensers. Never load flat lids into a LidSaver set up for dome coffee lids. OVERLOADING DOES NOT PROVIDE ANY BENEFIT! Illustration A Lids dispense well Illustration B Lids dispense poorly and crack When inserting a partially filled LidSaver, push new lids gently into place until you feel light resistance then stop Piston The bowl of the lid faces inward. Lid stack advances when customer extracts a lid Around 100 lids is the maximum number of lids to insert Coil spring inside LidSaver cabinet compresses when lids are inserted. When the piston reaches the backing plate, you will feel light resistance. This means the LidSaver is full. Illustration C Lids are uniform and evenly spaced right out of the sleeve. They will dispense very well. Sheboygan, WI 53081-3201 Technical Services: 800.628.0832 1/14/2013 2350200-1
