SIGNIFICANT EVENTS //2 At approximately 2PM, an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. After a short investigation, it was determined that the driver was a commercial burglary suspect from Tiffany's in Santa Monica. He was subsequently arrested. //2 //2 /2/2 /2/2 /2/2 At approximately 9:3AM, an officer responded to a man choking on the 3 block of North Elm Dr. Upon arrival, the officer administered the Heimlich maneuver and dislodged the object. Officers received a radio call of a possible DUI driver in the area of Olympic Blvd. and Doheny Drive. A short time later, the vehicle was located and stopped. The officers conducted an investigation and realized the occupants may be responsible for discharging a firearm at another location. All four occupants were arrested. At approximately PM, officers received an Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) notification of a stolen vehicle in the area of Olympic Blvd. and Robertson Blvd. The vehicle was located and stopped. The sole occupant was taken into custody for vehicle theft and possession of a loaded firearm. At approximately :3AM, officers received a call of a robbery at 3 North Canon Drive. While checking the area, officers located and detained a person matching the suspect's description. The victim identified the suspect who was subsequently arrested. At approximately AM, officers stopped a vehicle for several traffic violations. As the vehicle stopped, it was discovered it was stolen from LAPD Olympic Division. Two of the Three occupants were subsequently arrested. DETECTIVE BUREAU //2 An investigative traffic stop resulted in the arrest of an individual suspected of identity theft related crimes. Detectives followed and revealed that the suspect was involved in numerous identity theft related crimes. He had stolen a Tiffany's diamond ring valued at $,. As a result, the LA County DA filed a five count complaint against the suspect. //2 During the month of June, a series of incidents occurred in Beverly Hills involving a suspect shooting out automobile windows with a firearm. Patrol personnel identified the suspect during a traffic stop. As a result of some extensive detective follow up, the suspect arrested and confessed to his crimes. The firearm that he used was seized. The suspect is awaiting his preliminary hearing in the Los Angeles Superior Court. TRAFFIC BUREAU //2 Traffic Bureau facilitated a traffic plan and assisted in staffing a dignitary protection detail in the City. //2 Two additional Photo Red Light approaches (Olympic Blvd @ Beverly Drive, east and west) begin issuing citations. //2 Traffic Bureau conducted targeted enforcement for speed and noise violations on Sunset Blvd. This resulted in 3 citations, 3 arrests and 9 impounded vehicles. /9/2 Traffic Bureau personnel and other Department personnel implemented an event traffic plan for the "Rodeo Drive Concours D 'Elegance Father's Day Car Show." No major incidents, related to the event, were reported. /3/2 TCO's & Commercial Enforcement Officer continue to rove the Trousdale area to ensure compliance with the City Councils heavy hauling guidelines PERSONNEL & TRAINING BUREAU /2/2 During the month of June, staff processed 92 entry-level and 2 lateral police applicants for the police officer position and applicants for the police cadet position. In addition, lateral police officer, entry level police officers, and police cadet were hired during the month of June. Page of
