FAA Aviation Fuel Tax Revenue Use Policy Update FAA Clarified the Revenue Use Policy requiring aviation fuel taxes collected at the State and Local level to be returned to the Airport System in 2015 Deadline for Compliance with the Policy December 8, 2017 A Plan for Compliance was Require to be Submitted to FAA by December 8, 2015 July 1, 2015 the Georgia Department of Revenue began Reporting Aviation Fuel Sales Taxes Data at the State and Local Level by County
FAA s Clarification of the Revenue Use Policy continued State has submitted a Plan under the Policy for State Sales Taxes Determine state taxes generated by DOR reporting State s budget process via HB 170 will direct funding in an the amount of state sales tax collections to the Aviation Program Annually GDOT will provide certification to the FAA of the funding appropriated to the state Airport Aid Program GDOT submitted a Plan for the General Aviation Airports to following the same concepts as above Provide DOR report of local aviation fuel tax collections Annually Airport Sponsors to provide certification to GDOT of annual investment in airport equivalent to local fuel taxes or document an offset or in-kind services of equivalent value
