Our awards Eurotunnel Group has received an impressive number of awards: 88 over its 24 years in operation. These are testimony to its outstanding performance in a number of areas, including quality of service, safety, employment and training, railway operations, civil engineering, communications and the company s environmental commitment. Here is the list of the latest awards, received between 2018 and 2007: On 19 September 2017, the jury of the 14 th edition of the French Corporate Governance Awards presented Eurotunnel Group with the silver trophy "Dynamics of Corporate Governance process". This annual event rewards the best companies listed on the Paris stock exchange for the quality of their corporate governance and consideration towards its investors and its shareholders. On 19 January 2017 the MOOC On the right track to employment launched by the CIFFCO, the Eurotunnel Group s training subsidiary, was awarded the 2016 Best MOOC created by a company during the Mooc of the year. This event launched by the online platform MyMooc in partnership with Google and the French website Journal du Net rewarded the most innovative online courses platforms. At the end of July 2017 the Samphire Hoe reserve owned by the Eurotunnel Group received its 13 th consecutive Green Flag which rewards the most outstanding nature reserves in the UK for their environmental quality. In September, Samphire Hoe has also won a gold medal at the UK South and South-East in Bloom Awards in the Country parks category. Hosting many species of flora and
fauna, Samphire Hoe is visited by more than 100,000 people each year. On 10 January 2017 the Education Shelter in Samphire Hoe, a natural reserve owned by the Eurotunnel Group, was awarded the Special Award for Innovation presented by the Green Flag Award scheme. This country-level mention in the United-Kingdom highlights the outstanding benefits provided by the Education Shelter to its community especially schools groups and local associations. Already rewarded by the Green Flag since 2004, Samphire Hoe is visited by more than 80,000 people each year. On 5 December 2016, the Eurotunnel Group was awarded the 3 rd prize all categories during the 9 th edition of the Trophy for Best Investor Relations rewarding the Euronext listed companies for the quality of their financial communications practices and ranks the Group right after two listed companies of the CAC 40 index. On 24 October 2016 the MOOC On the right track to employment dedicated to railway jobs launched by the CIFFCO, the Eurotunnel Group s training subsidiary, won the Digital and new tools Project Award at the 2016 Digital HR Awards organized by the French National Association of Human Resources Directors (ANDRH). At the end of September, the MOOC was rewarded by a special mention from the HR IT Trophy jury. On 25 September 2016 Eurotunnel Le Shuttle won the Best Customer Experience award all categories and in the Automotive, Travel and Commercial Service Providers category. Those two awards highlight the work of Eurotunnel Le Shuttle s employees to ensure the best quality of service to customers from their booking to their arrival at destination.
In June 2016 the Share Incentive Plan implemented by the Eurotunnel Group for the employees of the Concession in Folkestone won the award for the Best employee share scheme at the Employee Benefits Awards held in London. This plan, which mirrors the French Group savings plan, represents a further step towards greater harmonisation of its British and French employees and shareholders. On 9 December 2015 in Paris, the French financial magazine Le Revenu has awarded to the Eurotunnel Group three top prizes which reward the best shareholders relations in 2015 in the SBF120: * Grand Gold award for the best Shareholder relations * Gold award for the best Digital Communication * Silver award for the best shareholder General Meeting. On 15 September 2015, GB Railfreight, the Group s UK rail freight subsidiary, won the most important award in the rail industry : the Freight & Logistics Achievement of the Year for its significant contributions to UK rail freight, its further expansion into targeted markets, in particular aggregates and infrastructure, and its quality of service. On 20 November 2014, Eurotunnel Le Shuttle has been named "Most environmentally friendly carrier" for its quality of service and its constant commitment to sustainable development, by German magazine BusPlaner, a reference in the coach and tourist trade in Germany. Eurotunnel Le Shuttle won two awards at the National Coach Tourism Awards in May 2014, the "Cross-Sea Carrier of the Year", ahead of Condor Ferries, DFDS Seaways and P&O Ferries, and the top prize in the "Coach Tourism Green Award" sector. These two distinctions awarded by coach operators, experts in the tourism industry, reward the quality of the service offered to customers in terms of speed, frequency, reliability and respect for the environment, 24/7, year-round.
Groupe Eurotunnel SA wins Prize for «Best CSR policy for a major group» at the 1 st Nuit de l Entreprise Solidaire et Responsable, on 28 October 2013, in recognition of the work of Eurotunnel in terms of sustainable development and of its commitment to responsible growth built on values of social cohesion and dialogue. The Channel Tunnel wins and received the Global Engineering Century Award as the most significant «Major Building Project in the last 100 years» by FIDIC (International Federation of Engineering Consultants) on 18 September 2013, ahead of the Tokaido Shinkanzen (the high speed line between Tokyo and Osaka), the Sydney Harbour Bridge or the Hoover Dam Bypass (the bridge linking the states of Arizona and Nevada). Best Service provider Sea Crossing/Water transport award received at the UK Coach Rally and Awards on 20 April 2013 by Eurotunnel Le Shuttle which had entered the category for the first time. The distinction recognises Eurotunnel s traffic performance in 2012 and the tailor-made quality of service proposed to coach operators: speed, ease, reliability and 24/7 online booking. On 1 st November 2012, Eurotunnel Le Shuttle was crowned Top dog in the Special Recognition category of the 6 th national Kennel Club Open for Dogs Awards. This award recognised Eurotunnel Le Shuttle as the international carrier of choice for the pet travel scheme for its dedication and its quality of service to dogs. 2012 Best Train Company Award won for the 2 nd year running by Eurotunnel Le Shuttle on 29 September 2012 at the Guardian and Observer Travel Awards 2012. This award, voted for by readers of the Guardian and Observer newspapers and of the Guardian website, recognises once again Eurotunnel s performance in providing high quality service and the most environmentally friendly cross-channel transport to its customers.
Best Supplier Award presented by DB Schenker in September 2012 at InnoTrans trade fair for transport technology in Berlin in recognition of the best overall performance of Eurotunnel Truck Shuttles and in particular for the quality of service, reliability and high frequency of departures. Eurotunnel is the first French company to be awarded this prestigious prize in the Transport and Logistics sector. Top Technical Innovation Award presented in September 2012 to Europorte, the rail freight subsidiary of Eurotunnel Group, and to London Carex by Rail freight Group in the United Kingdom. The award recognises the test carried out in March 2012 with a TGV fret transporting packages from Lyon Airport in France via Paris- Charles de Gaulle Airport and the Channel Tunnel to London, demonstrating the efficiency, the speed and the environmental benefits of intermodal container transport by rail over air. "Coach Tourism Green Award": The Coach Monthly magazine, a leader in the coach and tourism sector, presented Eurotunnel in May 2012 with the first "Coach Tourism Green Award" in recognition of its commitment to preserve the environment in Great Britain. This award given by professionals in the industry rewards Eurotunnel's commitment to reduce the carbon footprint of hauliers and in particular coach operators. Prize for Leadership in Sustainable Development awarded in November 2011 to Eurotunnel by Europe s leading transport and logistics periodical, International Freighting Weekly (IFW) for the Group s Environmental reporting and its continuous commitment to sustainable development. 28 October 2010: Eurotunnel leads transport sector in customer survey carried out by the UK Institute of Customer Service, an independent organisation which measures customer satisfaction indices. With a satisfaction score of 83%, Eurotunnel is ranked first ahead of Virgin Atlantic, P&O Ferries, British Airways et Easyjet.
Best relations with investors within the framework of a financial operation Award received by Eurotunnel in December 2009 by the Investor relations and Financial Communications Forum for the quality of its information (accuracy and transparency), its quick release, availability and responsiveness. Trophée de l économie responsable (trophy in recognition of a responsible attitude to economic growth) awarded in December 2009 by the Alliances network based in the Nord-Pasde-Calais region and in Belgium. Eurotunnel was commended for its environmental commitment. Communication strategies mention Award presented to Eurotunnel by the Strategies magazine (weekly reference magazine for marketing and communication) in December 2009 in the Company book category for the originality of the publication of Eurotunnel: 24 hours under the Channel. Trophy for the Best Web site of large companies presented to Eurotunnel in December 2009 by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Côte d Opale (Boulogne-sur-Mer, Calais, Dunkirk) during the 2009 edition of the Côte d Opale web trophies. Revelation of the year Award presented in November 2009 to Jacques Gounon, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Groupe Eurotunnel during the BFN Awards ceremony. This award acknowledges companies and managers who contribute to the dynamism and appeal of France.
Third Quality and transparency of information and communication Award presented to Eurotunnel in June 2009 at the AGEFI Grand prix of Corporate governance, organised in partnership with the Latham & Watkins law practice. This award takes into consideration the best practices implemented by Eurotunnel for: - The fullness, quality and availability of information, including on its internet web site - The responsiveness and availability of the management - The description and circulation of a clear strategy. This award was presented to Eurotunnel group as the result of a survey conducted with financial experts. First Mobility Award : Eurotunnel won this trophy on 25 September 2008 at Innotrans 2008, the International Trade Fair for Transport Technology in Berlin. This award is in recognition of Eurotunnel s ability to seek new solutions using advanced technology for infrastructure maintenance. 2007 Best financial deal of the year Award: this award was presented on 15 May 2008 to Groupe Eurotunnel SA for the financial restructuring of the Group by the Club des trente composed of the Chief Executives and Finance Directors of the largest listed French companies. 2007 Best of the Best Major Projects Award: On 10 October 2007, Eurotunnel was chosen for the 20 th Anniversary Special Award as the Best Civil Engineering Project over the 20-year period. The BCI Awards take into consideration many different aspects, from procurement to quality of design and construction, safety to innovation, sustainability to usability and benefits for the community.
The 2007 Innovation in Logistics Award: Eurotunnel was presented this award on 29 March 2007 for its automatic check-in system for trucks at the International Transport and Logistics Exhibition in Paris.
