1 Cross the Pond special instructions 1.1 Client settings We kindly ask you to restrict your pilot client to: Maximum Range = 20 NM Maximum aircraft to display = 50 During Cross the Pond, we observe many aircraft on ground, which pop up and disappear due pilot clients sending to many aircraft to the flight sim, which cannot handle the amount of traffic around. You may increase these values when airborne. 1.2 Hotline for assistance In any case of any trouble or if you have an urgent question while departing Frankfurt, please contact a public relations person by text. You will identify them by the ACCGERHLPx callsign and the comment in the controller info. They will help you with the flight plan and a possible slot (no guarantee on the slot though). 1.3 Clearance frequency There will be two frequencies. While you are standing at a Bravo, Charlie, Delta or Echo gate, please contact EDDF_E_DEL on 121.900 While you are standing at an Alpha Gate or Foxtrott or Victor stand, please contact EDDF_W_DEL on 121.850 You will receive clearance on both DEL Frequencies, regardless of stand or gate. East / West allocation is for balancing only. 1.4 Coming online to save the slot Please be online at least 35 Minutes before your take off time (slot time). There is a slot system in place, so we will provide non-event traffic with empty slots of no show event traffic. We suggest to be online 45 Minutes before departure. We will register you in our slot system automatically, once you are online, so the slot is blocked by you. No need to call in already at that point in time. 1.5 Time calculation on ground Please be advised, that expected departure clearance time is "wheels up time". So we kindly ask you to get your clearance from delivery approximately 30-35 minutes before the expected departure and calculate 10-15 minutes for push and taxi. 3

East / West allocation is for balancing only. 2.2 Airport Layout & Scenery There has been much change in the airport layout recently. Back in 2010 all taxiways had been renamed in order to establish an alphanumeric system. Therefore, the FS default scenery is not up to date. Nevertheless, both the new/old systems are implemented in our ground charts. In June 2011 (AIRAC 1107) the old runway 07L/25R has been renamed 07C/25C in order to give way to the new north-western runway opened in October 2011. Charts & Airport Information http://www.vatsim-germany.org/airport/eddf Arrival runways: 07L/25R, 07R/25L Departure runways: 07C/25C, 07R/25L, 18 The default FSX and P3D scenery for EDDF is completely outdated. We urgently ask you to at least install a freeware scenery for Frankfurt, which you can find under: http://library.avsim.net/download.php?dlid=191301 4

3 Departing from Frankfurt 3.1 Clearance and Startup (DEL) Clearance Delivery will issue you with an IFR-clearance containing the Standard Instrument Departure (SID) to fly and the transponder code. Find below a table of SIDs used most likely for CTP2016W. Waypoint SID-designator Runway Notes BIBTI E-----------------> 07C Initial climb altitude 5.000ft G----------------> 25C MARUN E-----------------> G----------------> 07C 25C Initial climb altitude 5.000ft SOBRA L-----------------> 18 Initial climb altitude 4.000ft By the SID designator you can see your runway. Do you have Echo, it will be 07C, if it is Lima, 18 is your departure runway in accordance to the table above. If unable to fly SIDs request radar vectored departure. In this case the controller will tell you to fly runway heading and maintain either 5000ft for 07/25-departure or 4000ft for 18-departure. 3.2 Pushback / Taxi (Apron, GND) DEL will transfer you to the appropriate apron frequency. Always contact GND, respectively the actual responsible controller for pushback, do not push on your own! Check that your transponder code is set correctly prior to requesting pushback. Squawk standby on the ground! When moving around the Apron you will not be alone, so read back all holdshort-instructions und listen carefully. 3.3 Take-off (Tower, TWR) Different holding points may be used to sequence departing traffic, stick to the ground charts! If you want to make an intersection departure, tell the controller. ATC may even send light and medium aircraft to an intersection directly, such as L6 for runway 25C. Squawk mode C when you receive the lineup clearance. When airborne, Tower will hand you off to APP (or DEP during Events). 3.4 Departure (APP/DEP) Departing Traffic: Initial climb for 07/25-departures is 5000ft. Initial climb for 18-departures is 4000ft. Do not climb above these altitudes unless cleared by ATC. Otherwise you may cause conflicts with arriving traffic. Transition altitude is 5000ft. 6
