COSTA RICA DISCOVERY TOUR March 29th to April 5th, 2018 8 DAYS / 7 NIGHTS (Dates of travel to be confirmed upon flight booking)
DAY 1: USA / COSTA RICA (Thursday, March 29) Fly to Costa Rica. Bienvenidos a Costa Rica! Upon arrival, you will be greeted by your local Forum Tour Manager who will remain with your group for the duration of your tour. Transfer by private motor coach to Alajuela, a small village 18 miles northwest of San José and about ten minutes away from the international airport, Juan Santamaría. Check-in at your hotel Rancho Lodge (or similar) followed by a welcome fruit cocktail and dinner. DAY 2: SAN JOSÉ / POÁS VOLCANO / LA PAZ (Friday, March 30) After breakfast at the hotel, board a private motor coach to Poás Volcano National Park. Lunch at a local restaurant. Then, head over to La Paz Waterfalls and Gardens. As you wander the trails, your senses will delight at the five waterfalls that you ll see along the hike. After, partake in a Costa Rican cooking class to learn more about the local cuisine. Dinner and overnight accommodation at El Rancho Lodge (or similar). DAY 3: ZIP LINE TOUR (Saturday, March 31) After breakfast, spend the morning taking in the most fascinating scenery on a Tour of the Arenal Conservation Area on a horseback ride. Lunch at a local restaurant. Next, fly across the rain forest canopy via one of the most exhilarating forms of jungle transportation, the Zip line! Enjoy dinner with your group at the hotel. Overnight accommodation at the Selva Verde Lodge (or similar). DAY 4: EASTER MASS / BALDI HOT SPRINGS (Sunday, April 1) Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and attend Easter Mass at church. After lunch at a local restaurant, experience the Baldi Hot Springs. These natural springs and geysers are a direct result of the volcanic activity of Mount Arenal. Visitors can relax and bathe in nine different pools while enjoying the striking views of the mountain and surrounding jungle. Dinner at a local restaurant in Baldi. Night accommodation at La Pradera Hotel (or similar). DAY 5: LA FORTUNA WATERFALL / MONTEVERDE (Monday, April 2) Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before setting off on a day of jungle adventures. Visit La Fortuna Waterfall located in the Arenal Volcano Park where there is an annual rainfall of more than 244 cubic inches and temperatures between 64 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
After lunch in a local restaurant, enjoy a combination of tranquility and excitement as you transfer to Monteverde. Dinner at a local restaurant. After, you will head on a Nocturnal Tour and explore the Monteverde Reserve. This large reserve is one of the most diverse wildlife sanctuaries in the Americas and includes eight distinct ecological zones. It protects more than 400 species of birds and over 100 species of mammals. Night accommodation at Monteverde Country Lodge (or similar). DAY 6: JACÓ (Tuesday, April 3) After breakfast at your hotel, board a private motor coach and head for a day in Jacó. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Today you will spend the afternoon at the beautiful 2.5 km long Jacó beach, known for having some of the best surfing in Costa Rica. Dinner and night accommodation at BW Jacó Beach Hotel (or similar). DAY 7: MANUEL ANTONIO NATIONAL PARK (Wednesday, April 4) After breakfast at your hotel, head out to explore Costa Rica s most biologically diverse national park, the Manuel Antonio National Park and spend the entire day exploring. Although it is Costa Rica s smallest national park, the breathtaking beauty and diversity of wildlife is unparalleled. Have a packed picnic lunch while taking a break from hiking at the park. Dinner and night accommodation at El Rancho Lodge or similar. DAY 8: DEPART (Thursday, April 5) After breakfast at your hotel, board your private motor coach and transfer to the airport to catch your flight back home! Hasta luego y buen viaje!
