INFRASTRUCTURE SUMMIT Capturing the value of our growth cities 29 November 2016 Sofitel Sydney Wentworth Event partners Event sponsors
There s a big noise coming from Western Sydney with tens of billions of dollars of public infrastructure under construction or in planning. Combine this with record private investment in commercial and residential property development, and you have a real BOOMTOWN! Partnering with Transport for NSW, the Western Sydney Leadership Dialogue will present an industry summit to flesh out the policy issues around infrastructure development and funding, urban renewal and strategic planning. We ve assembled national experts and industry leaders from the public and private sector to consider such pressing issues as value sharing, governance, skills and community engagement - in context of this building boom and major initiatives like the GSC s District Plans, the Long Term Transport Update and the Commonwealth s City Deals. We will use real life projects as our case studies, allowing delegates to get the insider s view on: Western Sydney Airport at Badgerys Creek Parramatta Light Rail Westmead Hospital ANZ Stadium & Parramatta Stadium South West rail extension M9, M12 & other airport roads Warragamba Dam Western Sydney University innovation corridor WestConnex Powerhouse Museum Moorebank Intermodal Terminal Liverpool riverbank Sydney Olympic Park s masterplan Western Sydney rail review Bankstown Airport WestMetro Rail All of these projects, as well as new health, cultural and education facilities, will form the basis for discussion at BOOMTOWN 2016.
Message from the Minister: The Hon Andrew Constance MP NSW Minister for Transport & Infrastructure NSW has become a global sweet spot for infrastructure investment, and the evidence is there for all to see. If you travel around Western Sydney, you ll see the incredible transformation that is taking place - the construction of Sydney Metro North West, planning for Parramatta Light Rail, and of course, the fantastic opportunities presented by the new Western Sydney Airport. This is just the beginning, and it s with not just transport infrastructure either, with new schools, hospitals, stadia, museums and much else all in the pipeline. Transport for NSW is proud to partner with the Western Sydney Leadership Dialogue to deliver the BOOMTOWN! Infrastructure Summit as a way to engage with industry and our stakeholders, and to explore how we can continue to better plan, manage and support our growth cities, and deliver value-for-money, sustainable community outcomes. Chairman s Welcome: Christopher Brown AM Chair, Western Sydney Leadership Dialogue On behalf of the Western Sydney Leadership Dialogue, I welcome Australian leaders in transport, finance, infrastructure, property and government, who have converged at the inaugural BOOMTOWN! Summit. The Summit addresses major policy issues of value sharing, strategic planning and project delivery and also gives attendees the chance to learn more about the billions of dollars of major infrastructure and property projects that our region is offering to the market. It is a rare opportunity to hear directly from the heads of State and Federal Government development agencies and their projects and to talk to the regulators about how the public and private sector can best combine to fund, plan, build, operate and govern this infrastructure. Once again, I would like to thank the Minister as well as Event Partners, Transport for NSW and The WestLine Partnership, our Event Sponsors, Deloitte, First State Super, Lendlease, Sydney Airport and all of our Event Supporters.
