10 Telluride Trip Report Our closing week spring ski trip to Telluride didn't get the usually late season snow dumps that so often happen in March. Actually about four feet fell in the first weeks of April after the mountain had closed! Telluride still boasted the deepest base in Colorado which let us have plenty of fun on groomed runs that changed from morning icy to softening during the day. Thursday we had mudslides at the hot tub, a wine and cheese party at the spacious condo lobby followed by pizza at a nearby bar. The Bear Creek condos are very high end accommodations that our group really enjoyed. We would return to this place again. Telluride had its annual closing week street party on Friday. A DJ played into the night while people danced in the street. As the night went on a full moon rose from behind the San Juan Mountains creating a fantastic view for the final night s party. 11 Dog Sled Race Here s What Our Members are Doing A few of us went to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan near Houghton/ Hancock to see the Copper 150 Dog Sled Race in late February. We skied at Mt. Ripley, toured the Keewanaw Peninsula as far north as Michigan Hwy 41 goes, sang Karaoke and danced the nights away. The weather was sunny all weekend.
