TRAVELLING TO, AND ACCOMMODATION IN, WOLLONGONG It is 80 km from Sydney to Wollongong. (1) Air transport: All international and domestic flights will land at Sydney's Kingsford-Smith Airport. (2) Rail transport to Wollongong: An electric train links Sydney Airport with the city train service: Transfield Airport Link. To get to Wollongong by train (Cityrail service), you may catch a train from Central Station, or take the Airport Link south one stop to the Wolli Creek station, which links with that line. An electric train travels through the second oldest National Park in the world. The trip takes about 1.5 hours from Central Station to Wollongong Station.
