START 3! Building inclusion through street arts
Welcome to MONTEROSSO & TOrtona! The project takes place in Monterosso (GE) and in Tortona (AL) between September 2nd and September 10th, 2017. The first part of the training (from Sept. 2nd to Sept. 8th) will be hosted in Monterosso. Monterosso al Mare is a town and comune in the province of La Spezia, part of the region of Liguria (northern Italy). It is one of the five villages in Cinque Terre. Monterosso al Mare is located at the center of a small natural gulf, protected by a small artificial reef, to the east of Punta Mesco in the Riviera of La Spezia. It is the westernmost of the Cinque Terre. The second and most important part of the training (from Sept. 8th to Sept. 10th) will be hosted in our hometown, Tortona. Tortona is a municipality in the southern part of the region Piemonte, in the Province of Alessandria, Italy. Known in ancient times as Derthona, the city was probably the oldest colony under Roman rule in the westernmost section of the Valley of the Po, on the road leading from Genova to Piacenza. ACCOMMODATION As in every Erasmus Plus project, food and accommodation are covered by the contribution of the European Union. The first part of the project will be hosted in Monterosso, in the hostel Padre Semeria (http://www.padresemeria.it/ita/index.htm). While in Tortona, instead, the group will stay at Mater Dei hostel in rooms for 3 to 4 persons (with private bathroom). In both hostels bed linens are provided, but participants will have to bring their own towels. All the activities in Monterosso will be hosted at the accommodation site or on the nearby beach. All the activities in Tortona will be hosted at the Youth Centre Chalet Castello or in local school gyms, as well as in the park and in the city centre.
THE PROGRAM! ATTENTION! - Please, book your flights in the morning/early afternoon of Sept. 2nd in order to be in Tortona no later than 5:30PM! It takes 2hrs to transfer the whole group to Monterosso and we will have one big bus for that. Therefore, it s extremely important that you reach Tortona on time, otherwise you will have to arrange your own transport to the final venue.
WHAT TO BRING?
WEATHER FORECAST
HOW TO REACH TORTONA Step 1 FROM (ANY) AIRPORT TO MILANO CENTRAL STATION - get out of the airport and look for SHUTTLES connecting the airports with Milan Central train station (they run approx. every 20 minutes) - buy the ticket (5 is the one way fare from Bergamo Orio Al Serio or Milano Linate - 10 is the one way fare from Milano Malpensa): our suggestion is to buy the tickets online before departure so that you can buy both ways directly and have some discount! - it takes more or less 1 hour to reach Milano Central Station (depending on which airport you land to, of course) Step 2 FROM MILANO CENTRAL STATION TO TORTONA - get out of the bus and walk inside the railway station (you will find a big door next to the airport bus stop) > PAY ATTENTION: buses to/from Malpensa now stop on both sides of the train station anyway, whenever you ll stop it will be right next to the station! - you can buy train tickets inside (we suggest to use automatic machines due to the usual huge queue at the ticket office) - one ticket from Milano to Tortona costs 7.30 (use regional trains and not intercity trains, they re more expensive and the service is pretty much the same!). You can also check the website: www.trenitalia.it! In the next page you find the train schedule from Milano to Tortona (on regional trains it s usually the 6th stop: Milano Lambrate - Milano Rogoredo - Pavia - Voghera - Tortona) From Tortona to Monterosso: we will have a big bus transferring the whole group to Monterosso. The bus will leave max. at 6PM, therefore we suggest that you get to Tortona at 5:30PM MAX.
