Cadillac Square Once the site of the Detroit Central Market, Cadillac Square is a re-established park that lies immediately to the east of Campus Martius Park. Cadillac Square Park is home to the relocated Bagley Memorial Fountain, seasonal basketball courts and a variety of seating to enjoy, along with the array of food trucks that set up shop in the area during the week. Detroit s newest public space - Beacon Park - was developed by DTE Energy and opens to the public on July 20. Spirit of Detroit Plaza Spirit of Detroit Plaza, a newly designed Downtown public space on Woodward at Jefferson, opened on Monday, June 12, 2017 and continues through Thursday, August 31, 2017. Capitol Park Capitol Park is the center of downtown s most dense residential neighborhood, surrounded by cafes and unique retail offerings, enhanced with beautiful greenery and comfortable seating. Responding to the transformation of the neighborhood to residential, Capitol Park will be redeveloped with a planned 2018 reopening. The intimate Capitol Park will become a premiere downtown space in a historically significant and iconic district. Tremendous redevelopment is also taking place around the park as new businesses and residences flock to this intimate corner of Downtown.
