Description: The local event in the trinational agglomeration of Basel will show and discuss projects and solutions for cross border cooperation in urban regions. Everyday life in the trinational urban area determines the content and approach of the international building exhibition IBA Basel 2020. By 2020, the IBA should take shape through a series of landmarks from the first interim presentation in 2013 to the final presentation in 2020 when the completed projects will be made available to the public. True to the spirit of its guiding principle Au-delà des frontières, ensemble - Gemeinsam über Grenzen wachsen (Growing together across borders) the IBA is striving to firm up shared responsibility for the agglomeration in projects, buildings, infrastructures and landscape regions and provide impetus for a culture of cross-border cooperation. In this way, every IBA project will act as a unifying platform to create relationships between people or shared spaces. The public opening of the IBA Project Exhibition 2013 shows the variety of the 41 IBA projects and approaches, which seek to realize the cross border development at international standard. The event and different panels provide opportunities for information and informal contacts with decision makers and project organisers. Target groups of participants: Representatives from the region s universities, voluntary and community sector, local authorities, local government, and international experts and professionals of cross-border cooperation and international building exhibitions in Europe, interested public.
