(B, D) Day 3: Tuesday, August 20, 2013 Trinidad - Manaca Iznaga - Trinidad Embark on a Trinidad city tour. Visit the Palacio Cantero, the city s history museum housed in a restored Neoclassical palace. Explore the Old Cathedral, churches and unique houses of this museum of a city. Next, visit Manaca Iznaga s former sugar factory and estate, located in the beautiful Valle de los Ingenios, or Valley of the Sugar Mills. Learn about sugar production, its historic importance to the Cuban economy, and what types of agriculture are important today. Enjoy lunch at the estate before learning about the local craft of linenmaking from the residents. This afternoon, visit a ceramic studio and enjoy a pottery demonstration while the owners discuss traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation. Perhaps take a turn at the potter s wheel for a hands-on experience with this craft. (B, L, D) Day 4: Wednesday, August 21, 2013 Trinidad - Cienfuegos - Trinidad This morning drive towards Cienfuegos, the city known as La Perla del Sur (The Pearl of the South). Visit the Cienfuegos Province Botanical Gardens, the oldest of its kind on the island. During a fascinating walking tour, learn about the garden s ties with Harvard University and its founding as a research center where a sugar mill once stood. After a picnic lunch, a city tour highlights the Catedral de la Purisima Concepcion. Later, set out on a spectacular harbor cruise* visiting the small town of El Perche to meet a few of the locals and to see Castillo de Jagua. Return to Trinidad and dine in one of the city s authentic

restaurants. Then, it s on to the plaza for some live music and dancing. (B, L, D) Day 5: Thursday, August 22, 2013 Trinidad - Bay of Pigs Museum - Havana Embark on a scenic drive this morning, past lush mountains and forests, charming country towns and farms, and the pristine Caribbean Sea. Visit the Bay of Pigs Museum in Playa Giron. Discover the history behind one of the major events of the Cold War and how the Victory of Giron, as it is locally known, impacted Cuba. Enjoy lunch at La Cueva de los Peces, which is named for the nearby Cave of the Fish, a cenote or sinkhole filled with multicolored sea life. You may even spot Cuba s national bird, the Tocororo, and some of the islands most colorful fish. Stop at a conservation center to learn from a local scientist about the preservation efforts in the Zapata Swamp and across Cuba. Next, travel across the countryside to Havana, Cuba s energetic capital. Explore the Hotel Nacional, an iconic national landmark. Tonight, enjoy Cuban favorites as you dine at El Aljibe, in the most modern part of the city. (B, L, D) Day 6: Friday, August 23, 2013 Havana This morning discover the secret of Cuban cigars at a cigar factory and learn why they are treasured around the world. While visiting the Literacy Museum, learn more about the Literacy Campaign of 1961 and the education system in Cuba. Then, savor lunch at a typical restaurant in Old Havana. Explore the Cuban Fine Arts Museum and enjoy a presentation given by a local art historian. Dinner is included tonight as you visit one of the area s paladars, a small specialty restaurant with its own organic farm. Meet the proprietors of this familyrun and privately-owned business as they share their stories about opening a privately-run restaurant in Cuba. (B, L, D) Day 7: Saturday, August 24, 2013 Havana Today, visit a local health care facility to meet the staff and gain insight into the health care system in Cuba. Next, spend time visiting the benefactors of a local charity that focuses on caring for the elderly. Learn about the city s architecture and restoration efforts as you visit the Maqueta de la Ciudad de La Habana Museum which houses a model of the city and stop by a workshop that teaches the skills necessary for restoring Havana s historic buildings. Visit the inspiring Catedral de la Habana. (B) Day 8: Sunday, August 25, 2013 Havana - Casa Fuster - Havana Visit the home of Ernest Hemingway, Finca Vigía (Lookout Farm), where he conceived his final masterpiece, The Old Man and the Sea. This cultural time capsule remains much like it did when the author left in 1960. Next, head over to the Casa Fuster, the

colorful home to Jose Fuster. One of his apprentices or even the artist himself will be on hand to talk about his work, inspired by Gaudi. Experience lunch at La Ferminia, a popular restaurant that resides at the end of legendary 5th Avenue. Afterwards, stop at a local produce market where you can interact with the locals as they barter for locally-grown products. Later, learn about policies between the U.S. and Cuba on an interesting discussion led by a Cuban PLEASE NOTE: Please note that a departure tax of 25 CUC (Cuban Pesos Convertibles), approximately 30 USD, must be paid for in cash upon departing Havana Airport and returning back to the United States. Walking tours, as well as walking slightly longer distances, up stairs or on uneven walking surfaces should be expected. IMPORTANT RESERVATION INFORMATION Cancellation Charges for this tour: After your seat reduction date has passed, a non-refundable deposit will be retained. For Cancellation between 60-16 days prior to departure: cancellation fee of 30% of total price. For cancellation between 15-1 days prior to departure: cancellation fee of 50% of total price. For cancellation on the day of departure and after: 100% of total price. For Ocean Cruises: For cancellation between 90-61 days prior to departure: cancellation fee of 35% of total price. For River Cruises: including Europe, Russia, Egypt and China, 90-61 days prior to departure: cancellation fee of 50% of total price. For cancellation between 60-31 days prior to departure: cancellation fee of 85% of total price. For cancellation 30 or fewer days prior to departure: cancellation fee of 100% of total price. For Galapagos and Antarctica: A cancellation fee of 60% will apply for cancellation between 120-90 days prior to departure; A cancellation charge of 100% will apply for cancellation less than 90 days prior to departure. Cancellation protection is highly recommended and must be purchased at time of deposit. Air rates are subject to change until tour is paid in full. If waivers have not been purchased and a reservation is cancelled for any reason prior to departure - Air is 100% non-refundable once paid in full. Cancellation charges also apply to reservations made for "pre" and "post" night accommodations. Payment of a Per Person Waiver Fee guarantees a full refund of all payments (including deposit), except the Waiver Fee itself, made to Collette Vacations for travel arrangements in case of cancellation of your travel plans for any reason prior to the day of departure. The Waiver Fee with Air only covers airline tickets you have purchased from Collette Vacations. Exception: If you originally purchased non-refundable airline tickets, the Waiver does not provide a refund for the airline tickets, taxes or fees, in the event of a cancellation. This air ticket is covered by Collette Vacations travel protection plan under Part B, if you cancel your trip for covered reasons (see Part B for more details). The Waiver and Insurance does not cover any single supplement charges which arise from an individual's Traveling companion electing to cancel for any reason prior to departure. Upon cancellation of transportation or travel services where you, the customer, are not at fault and have not canceled in violation of the terms and conditions above, you will be refunded 100%. Because neither maintains control or operates the personnel, equipment, or operations of the suppliers it uses and as such, Collette Vacations assumes no responsibility for and cannot be held liable for any personal injury, death, property damage or other loss, accident, delay, inconvenience, or irregularity which may be occasioned by reason of (1) any wrongful, negligent, willful or unauthori zed acts or omissions on the part of any of the suppliers or other employees or agents, (2) any defect in or failure of any vehicle, equipment, or instrument owned, operated or otherwise used by any of these suppliers, or (3) any wrongful, willful or negligent act or omission on the part of any other party not under the supervision and control of Collette Vacations. Additionally, Collette Vacations waives any and all liability for losses or expenses due to sickness, lack of appropriate medical facilities or practitioners, weather, strikes, theft or other criminal acts, war, terrorism, computer problems, acts of God or other such causes. All services and accommodations are subject to the laws of the country in which they are provided. Collette Vacations reserves the right to make changes in the published itinerary whenever, in their sole judgment, conditions warrant, or if Collette Vacations deems it necessary for the comfort, convenience, or safety of the tour. Collette Vacations reserves the right to withdraw any tour announced. Collette Vacations reserves the right to decline to accept any person as a member of the tour, or to require any participant to withdraw from the tour at any time, when such action is determined by the tour manager to be in the best interests of the health, safety, and general welfare of the tour group or of the individual participant. Collette Vacations does not accept liability for any carrier's cancellation penalty incurred by the purchase of a non-refundable airline or other ticket to the tour departure city and return or otherwise. Baggage and personal effects are the sole responsibility of the owner at all times. Participants may be photograph ed for the promotional purposes of the Collette Vacations products. Payment of the deposit to Collette Vacations constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions. I agree that any dispute concerning, relating, or referring to this contract, the brochure or any other liter ature concerning my trip, or the trip itself, shall be resolved exclusively by binding arbitration according to the then existing rules of the American Arbitration Association in the State of Rhode Island.
