Proposed Itinerary #2 Cherokee Trail High School Performing Arts Department Concert Choir, Concert Band, Orchestra, Dance & Theatre CHICAGO March 16 March 21, 2016 (6 days/5 nights) DAY #1 Wednesday, March 16, 2016 Meet your Tour Manager at DIA for group check in for your flight to Chicago Arrive at a Chicago airport and collect all of the luggage and instruments Load the luggage and instruments and board the motor coaches for transfer to the hotel Arrive at the hotel to check in DAY #2 Thursday, March 17, 2016 Board the motor coaches Time for everyone to explore The Field Museum Lunch (at own expense) at the Field Museum (cafeteria or Bistro) The group meets to walk over and explore the Shedd Aquarium Time for everyone to board the motor coaches to return to the hotel and freshen up for the evening activities Everyone boards the motor coaches for dinner Dinner (included) at Ed Debevic s or The Purple Pig (TBD)
DAY #2 Thursday, March 17, 2016 (cont.) After dinner everyone boards the motor coaches and we head north to experience the amazing Blue Man Group The show ends and everyone boards the motor coaches back to the hotel DAY #3 - Friday, March 18, 2016 Festival Day for Band, Choir & Orchestra & Clinic Day for Dance & Theatre -- Clinic Day for Theatre & Dance The Cherokee Trail High School Band, Choir & Orchestra participate in the 2016 WINDY CITY CLASSIC FESTIVAL Theatre students will attend a theatre workshop at Second City, the Acting Studio of Chicago, Chicago College of Performing Arts, Dream Big Performing Arts Workshop or The Artistic Home (Meisner based study) TBD Dance students will attend a dance clinic at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts, The Academy of Dance (official school of The Joffrey Ballet), Lou Conte Dance Studio or Visceral Dance Center - TBD Lunch (at own expense) Awards Ceremony with dinner and show will take place at the Drury Lane Theatre The groups return to the hotel
DAY #4 - Saturday, March 19, 2016 Everyone visits the Art Institute of Chicago Time to visit and spend the afternoon at Navy Pier and the Magnificent Mile Lunch (at own expense) at the Navy Pier food court The group returns to the hotel to freshen up Dinner at Lou Malnati s Pizzeria (included) Evening will find possible optional activities for the groups: Band Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Michael Tilson Thomas Conductor Emanuel Ax Piano; Program - Stravinsky Scherzo à la russe, Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 4, Sibelius Symphony No. 2 Choir/Theatre Dance Lincoln Park s Steppenwolf Theatre, Goodman Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Chicago Theatre, or Porchlight Music Theatre, Joffrey Ballet, Visceral Dance Chicago, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, or Giordano Dance Chicago The groups return to the hotel DAY #5 - Sunday, March 20, 2016 Breakfast - everyone walks to a Gospel Brunch (included) at the House of Blues After the brunch the spends the afternoon exploring the Chicago Riverwalk, Millennium Park, Maggie Daley Park and Grant Park
DAY #5 - Sunday, March 20, 2016 (cont.) The group checks out the breathtaking views of the unique Ledge at Skydeck Chicago in Willis Tower Everyone returns to the hotel to freshen up Dinner (at own expense) at/near the hotel The group attends a musical performance Broadway in Chicago The performance ends and everyone returns to the hotel DAY #6 - Monday, March 21, 2016 Room checks by chaperones time to collect room keys and depart the hotel Everyone loads their luggage and instruments on the motor coaches There will be a choice of 2 (included) activities this morning (each person will select 1): 1) A guided Chicago Theatre Tour or 2) A guided tour of Wrigley Field The tours end and everyone boards the motor coaches to depart for the airport All travelers, luggage and instruments are checked in at the Chicago Airport
DAY #6 - Monday, March 21, 2016 Lunch/dinner (at own expense) at the airport Everyone boards the plane and we depart for Denver The Cherokee Trail High School Concert Band, Concert Choir, Orchestra, Dance and Theatre members arrive in Denver with "Memories of a Lifetime!"
