Ops/Tech Strategic Plan: Four Initiatives to Focus Committee Efforts Strategic Plan Initiative Lead 1. Reassess Committee Identity and Modernize its Mission Pat Neville 2. Enhance Committee Networking and Information Exchange Ian Redhead 3. Improve Value and Management of Working Groups Brian Mohr 4. Emphasize Talent Planning in Technical Airport Professions Pete Higgins All four initiatives will be rolled out throughout 2018, starting with new Committee Terms of Reference

Airport Flow as a Unifying Theme Maintaining/enhancing the efficiency of passenger, baggage, cargo, aircraft, and ground vehicle flows at North American airports seen by the Ops/Tech Steering Group as a challenge that unifies all five working groups and most Committee members. Airport flow will be used as a theme around which upcoming events are planned. The topic is also an area where the Committee will develop information papers and best practices.

Other Key 2018 Ops/Tech Work Efforts Assisting U.S. airports with the rollout of Airport Safety Management System requirements, expected from FAA later this year. Continuing to track airspace modernization efforts in the U.S. & Canada and advocate for early and meaningful collaboration with airport operators in their development. Preparing airports for new generation vehicles from drones to commercial spacecraft to automated ground vehicles both landside and airside. Updating guidance for airport owners regarding project delivery systems, including the growing role of public-private partnerships in project delivery. Preparing airports to backfill key technical positions through employee development plans and other talent planning initiatives. Our Working Groups will be where most of this work gets done.
