The boat cruise on Lake Geneva is a real highlight of the trip and provides fantastic photo opportunities! Public transport is excellent and all schools are given a Geneva Transport Card that entitles them to unlimited free use of all public transport. So getting around this compact city is safe and a breeze!

Your Itinerary: Day 1 DAY 1 Friday 6 th February 2015 YOUR ITINERARY 14:30 Leave Arden (by school minibus) for Birmingham Airport 18:25 Flight with easyjet to Geneva from Birmingham International Airport. 21:20 Arrive at Geneva and transfer to accommodation by train. 22:15 Arrive accommodation: Geneva Youth Hostel is our first choice for school accommodation and is situated close to all your activities! Our meal plan is half-board first meal is breakfast
19:30 - Cross the Rhone and explore Geneva s Old Quarter. Your Itinerary: Day 2 DAY 2 Saturday 7 th February 2015 07:00 Breakfast at hostel YOUR ITINERARY 09:00 CERN guided tour. This visit lasts three hours, and a resident expert will be an engaging and informative guide to research at CERN. 13:00 Lunch at CERN restaurant. Students to pay for own lunch 14:00 - Visit the permanent exhibition Universe of Particles and travel back to the Big Bang! 16:30 La Cité du Temps Museum: discover the Swatch watches exhibition. 18:30 Dinner at hostel
Your Itinerary: Day 3 08:00 Breakfast at hostel DAY 3 Sunday 8 th February 2015 YOUR ITINERARY 10:30 Visit The Museum of Natural History: frogs, toads and indigenous birds, Lucy and the dinosaurs, the Arctic and the Antarctic. Don t miss any of its mysteries! Lunch in Geneva Centre (and free time) 14:00 Enjoy a pleasant cruise on Geneva s Lake and don t forget to take pictures! 15:30 Visit the History of Science Museum and admire its collection of historical scientific apparatus. 17:00 Pick up some souvenirs along Geneva's waterfront and stroll around the beautiful Park Moynier to see the iconic Jet d'eau.

Permanent Exhibition YOUR ITINERARY Universe of Particles: The purpose of the entirely interactive exhibition is for students to confront the great questions of contemporary physics. It will take you on a journey all the way back to the Big Bang. Find out more about the creation of the Universe!

Accommodation: Geneva Youth Hostel YOUR ITINERARY The Geneva Youth Hostel is our first choice of accommodation for our schools. It sits on the shores of Lake Geneva, just a short walk from the main Cornavin rail station. What next? Dr Hayes will collect in the passports and EHICs week commencing 2/2/15. We will need our passports at CERN! You must wear appropriate footwear at CERN. Flip flops, sandals and heels are not allowed. Remember to bring a camera for the boat cruise and also for CERN as you are allowed to take pictures! Take some Swiss Francs for lunches, snack and drinks and for any souvenirs. Bring a towel remember only hand luggage so not a bath sheet! SUMMARY
Hand Luggage for Flight Each student allowed 1 piece of hand luggage for the flight. Toiletries must be packed in a transparent plastic bag and not exceed 100ml. There is no weight limit for the cabin bag but it must be no bigger than 50 X 40 X 20cm. They will check the size/weight of hand luggage Consider sharing toiletries and electrical items Adaptors!!! Mobile phones may be taken on the trip but we strongly advise you to discuss the charges associated with international calls/network access. Any valuable items are taken at your own risk.
Rooming Girls and boys rooms are on separate floors. Girls are all in one room (6) Boys rooms to be organised at the end of meeting (19) You make your own bed when we get there sheets/pillowcases provided!
