CORE CAMP Core Camp at CAMP TIMBERCREST is a special chance for Girl Scout troops to come together for a sampling of all the various activities that make Girl Scout camp one of the most fun and valuable experiences ever! The core camp experience provides well-balanced meals, program supplies and experienced instructors. It s perfect for anyone who wants to camp, but doesn t have experience or training. Adults are still responsible for supporting girls in the programs. Summit Express, Jungle Gym and Water Trampoline - Per New York Health Guidelines, girls must be an intermediate (yellow cap) to an advanced level (blue cap) swimmer in order to participate on the Summit Express, Jungle Gym and Water Trampoline. Non-swimmer/beginner (red cap) swimmers are not permitted. S.P.P.CAMPING (Specialty Programs Provided) With S.P.P. camping, troops can now get the best of both worlds of troop camping and specialized programs such as ropes course, archery and boating. Trained leaders will have the freedom of troop camp with the comfort of knowing that predetermined specialty program options and times have been scheduled for you and your girls. Leaders taking part in S.P.P. camping must have their Level I camp training (for lodge camping) or Level II (for cabin and tent camping) and provide an adult with current first aid and CPR certification. S.P.P. Camping will take place at CAMP SEVEN HILLS - LAKESIDE and CAMP PIPERWOOD only. WHAT IS REQUIRED OR PROVIDED? CAMP SEVEN HILLS - LAKESIDE Camp Seven Hills is located in Holland, NY, and encompasses woodland paths, sunny meadows, ponds, streams and hills. The lakeside facility includes a lake, central dining hall, infirmary, shower house, lodges, cabins, platform tent units, and an archery area. Girls in Grades K-12 Fee: $35 per person Session 3 July 20-22, Fri-Sun (2 nights) Session 5 August 1-3, Wed-Fri (2 nights) Activities include: Archery and Boating S.P.P. CAMPING AT... CAMP PIPERWOOD Camp Piperwood consists of two lodges and two A-Frame tent units, pavilions, vast hiking trials, a state-of-the-art splash pad, an archery area, and open fields. Troops will be camping in the Florence Fryer Unit. Girls in Grades K-12 Fee: $45 per person Session 4 - July 27-29, Fri-Sun (2 nights) Activities include: Archery and Ropes Challenge Course 2

GENERAL INFORMATION Girl Scout camps are open to every girl in grades K-12. Girl Scouting values inclusiveness and does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, national origin, or physical or developmental disability. Girls attending Girl Scout summer camp must register as members of Girl Scouts of the USA. A Children s Camp in New York State brochure listing NYS standards for camp operations will be available in all Camp Information Packets. Please read the Camp Information Packets for details on our refund policy, inclement weather, cancellations, and other relevant camp information. Packets can be found on our website or by calling 1-888-837-6410. HOW TO REGISTER: Please register your girl online via gswny.org and click CAMP or CLICK HERE! If you do not have a computer, visit one of our council offices and register your girl via our computer kiosks. You may also submit a completed paper camp application form (both sides) and a $25 nonrefundable deposit for each camp session to either our Rochester or Buffalo office (by mail, fax, or hand delivery). No walk-in registrations at camp will be accepted. Financial aid applications can be completed online with your camp registration. Payment is due no later than two weeks prior to the start of camp. Cookie Gift Cards cannot be used on the online registration system or your deposit. They may be used toward your camp balance or put on account at our camp tuck shops. If using Cookie Gift Cards for camp balance, payment can be made at any of our Girl Scout Service Centers. All deposits and camp balances can be paid by electronic check or credit/debit card through the online registration system or at one of our Girl Scout service centers. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE Don t forget! Financial assistance is available. Please indicate F/A when registering for your program. (No income verification needed.) CAMPERS THAT REQUIRE REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONS 3 The Girl Scouts of Western New York wants to provide a positive summer camp experience to every girl. If your child requires special accommodations (transportation, diet, food restrictions, extra supervision, other, etc.) while at camp, please contact the Director of Outdoor Program PRIOR to REGISTERING YOUR CHILD for camp at 1-888-837-6410 or summercamp@gswny.org to discuss the possible accommodations that could safely and reasonably be made for your child.

A FIRST-RATE STAFF All staff members receive certification in First Aid and CPR before camp sessions begin, and attend a week-long training session that includes, but is not limited to, child development, risk management, and safety. Waterfront staff members are required to have American Red Cross Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor Certifications. (WSI for waterfront director only) Specialty staff (e.g., for our horseback riding, waterfront, and adventure challenge courses) possess required certification/training prior to being hired. 5 CORE CAMPING AT CAMP TIMBERCREST Camp Timbercrest is located in part of the Allegheny Forest in Randolph, NY, and is equipped with lodges, yurts, cabin tents, hiking trails, and a large lake. Some activities that troops can participate in are swimming, kayaking or boating, archery, horseback riding, games, and more. Go hiking on our adventurous trails, swim in Keyser Lake, play on our really cool water toys, make a special gift to take home in arts and crafts, and spend time around the campfire with your fellow camp friends. This special time is yours to spend as you and your favorite gal would like. Favorite gal must be 21 years of age or older. Activities such as swimming, boating, arts & crafts, hiking, games, and so much more are waiting for you to explore and enjoy. SESSION 3C ONLY: Leaders will receive training in Camp Training Outdoor I and Camp Training Outdoor II. Imagine you ve been sailing around the world when an unexpected storm suddenly destroys your sailboat and strands you and your friends on a deserted island. How will you survive until help arrives? Build your own shelter and tools using rope, tarps, and materials you find in the natural environment around you. Learn to obtain potable water, create a solar still, and more. Girls will earn the Girl Scout Badge - Camper. When you think of tie-dyeing something what comes to mind? Maybe t-shirts, socks, or even a pillowcase! You just have to use your imagination. Bring items with you that you would like to tie-dye and watch your creativity come to life. Make your own trail mix using some of the natural resources found on your expedition. Create a challenging outdoor obstacle course and compete with your fellow camp mates in the Timbercrest Mud Challenge. Will you win the Tough Mudder Award? Girls will earn requirements towards the Girl Scout badges - Trailblazing, Adventure, and Ultimate Recreation Badges. Tack and Trails Fee $85 per person Maximum Capacity 10 (yurt) SESSION 3A July 22-24, Sun-Tues Saddle up and spend some time learning the fundamentals of Western riding. Girls will learn the ins and outs of Western riding, trail riding, corral demonstrations, and stable management. Also included: a trail lunch.
