Program Policies Pricing: Program pricing is quoted per program below. Adults are free. Parking is free. Program Scheduling: Programs can be scheduled on Monday - Friday evenings and Saturday and Sunday all day. Booking Information: For more information, or to book a program, please contact the Registrar at registar@sanc.org or 414-352-2880 x224. Cancellation Policy: Participants canceling 14 days or more before a program will receive a refund. Less than 14 days no refund will be given. Upon Schlitz Audubon Nature Center cancellation a refund will be given. Daisy Programs Duration: 1 1/2 hours Pricing: $10 per Daisy Attendance: 8 Daisy minimum Program Choices: Choose one petal listed below to complete at the program Mari s Petal - Campfire: Daisies will join a Center naturalist for an outdoor campfire. We will read Mari s Story, put on skits, sing songs about environmental responsibility, and learn how to be responsible with fire. We will even make s mores! Clover s Petal - Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle: Daises will learn about resources, what they are, how we use them, and how we can recycle them. We will read Clover s Story, and create a plan for how to reduce our waste, and make a craft out of reused materials. Rosie s Petal - Cleanup or Planting: Have an outdoor adventure with a Center naturalist and learn how you can leave the world a better place than how you found it. We will begin by reading and acting out Rosie s Story. Then we will do a trail cleanup, beach cleanup or plant of trees on the Center property.

Brownie Programs Duration: 2 hours Pricing: $12 per Brownie - extra fees where noted Attendance: 8 Brownie minimum Program Choices: Choose one badge or option listed below Animals: Meet 3 or 4 animals and learn what makes each one special. We will hike along the trails observing how different animals move, communicate, and eat in order to survive in the wild. Bugs: Create a bug craft and take a guided bug hike in pursuit of learning about the fascinating lives of insects and arachnids. Girls will complete all of their Bugs badge requirements. Earth and Sky: On the beach of Lake Michigan, we will discover the often unseen relationships between our earth and sky. In the process of discovery, the girls will make a reminder of each to take home with them. Eco Explorer: Explore different neighborhoods found in nature such as fields, forests, and ponds. We ll meet a live animal, and make a bird feeder to take home! (extra fee: $1/Brownie) Outdoor Adventure: Explore the far reaches of Schlitz Audubon. Learn how to dress for different weather conditions. We ll build temporary shelters to help protect ourselves from some of those weather surprises. Space Explorer: Look at constellations and planets via telescopes and binoculars. This is a fun-filled evening program that can be done separately or as part of the Camp Together overnight program. Watching Wildlife: This program is an excellent opportunity to learn about and observe the special adaptations and strategies animals utilize in their daily struggle to survive in the wild. Water Everywhere: This is a ponding experience like no other. The girls will utilize different kinds of equipment as they discover the importance of ponds. We ll also have a chance to meet some pond critters in an up-close and personal way.

Brownie Programs Continued... Camp Together: Sleep indoors or outside, sit around a campfire on the beach or the fireplace inside. What will we discover on our night hike that s different than our morning hike? Overnight experiences are offered year-round. (cost exception: $20 per Brownie/$240 minimum) Hiker: Take an exciting hike on the trails at Schlitz Audubon. The girls will begin with making trail mix, learn leave no trace policies, then head out into the woods on a thematic hike. This program is an introduction to hiking. Girls will complete some of their Hiker badge requirements including Steps 1-2 and 4-5. (extra fee: $1/Brownie) Senses: How in tune are you with your senses? In this program, we will learn about our five senses through hands on activities and compare them to the senses of one of Schlitz Audubon s own animals. Junior Girl Scout Programs Duration: 2 hours Pricing: $12 per Scout - extra fees where noted Attendance: 8 scout minimum Program Choices: Choose one program option listed below Animal Habitats: We will meet one of Schlitz Audubon s own live animals, learn about habitats that are in danger, explore habitats on the nature center grounds, and help clean-up a habitat. Girls will earn their entire Animal Habitats badge. Bronze Award Project: Girls will pair up to make Screech Owl/American Kestrel nesting boxes and meet one of these raptors. Girls will learn about past and present dangers these raptors face, and about the best habitats and tree heights for placing these boxes. Please note: 1 box for every 2 girls. (extra fee: $1/scout) Camp Together: Girls can sleep indoors or outside, and sit around a campfire on the beach or the fireplace inside. What will we discover on our night hike that s different than our morning hike? Overnight experiences are offered year-round. Girls earn most of their Camper badge including steps 2-5. Junior Girl Scout Programs Continued... Earth Connection: Identify trees and plants and learn how they are used. What kind of special adaptations do Wisconsin s animals have that help them survive? Get a close-up look at our great big world. Eco Action: Participate in a service project planting native trees or flowers. Learn about the women who made the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center what it is today. This is a seasonal activity that only costs your time and energy! (Cost Exception: free, with Center admission) Finding Your Way: Girls will learn how to find their way using navigation tools like maps and a compasses, and how to without these tools. We will lay a trail and see if your friends can follow it. Geocacher: Learn all about the skills behind Geocaching and go on a Geocaching adventure at Schlitz Audubon. We will make something that represents you, hide it, and find it! Girls earn most of their Geocacher badge including steps 2-4. (extra fee: $1/scout) Hiking Basics: This is a great program for beginners in hiking. Learn how to dress and pack for hiking. Take a hike using an orientating map and compasses. Hiking Day: Get ready to put your hiking basics to the test! Locations of trips are individually determined. (Cost Exception - $15/person) Outdoor Fun: Learn how to prepare for outdoor emergencies and utilize basic first aid. Build a campfire on the beach, have a cookout, and play campfire games. (extra fee: $1/scout) Rocks Rock: Start a rock collection and learn how to identify your rocks. Learn about geological features like glaciers, erosion, volcanoes, and look at the small stuff like soil. Make your own fossil to take home.

General Scouting Programs Reptiles & Amphibians Pricing: $10 each Attendance: 8 Minimum, 50 Maximum Whether they slither, hop, jump, swim, or crawl, Wisconsin s reptiles and amphibians are sure to fascinate your group. See them up close and learn about what makes each of them unique in our intriguing programs. Owls: Designed for Darkness Pricing: $325 These seldom seen, silent winged hunters shine best when the sun goes down. A number of our recent raptors will model their special night hunting adaptations and some basic owl behaviors providing insights into their natural history. Wisconsin is home to a variety of native owls, each with its own special adaptations. Our resident owls will engage your audience as they see firsthand the power of these amazing birds. Pellet dissection also offered for an enhanced learning experience. Eagle and Friends Pricing: $350 With awesome power, spectacular strength, a huge wingspan, and massive talons, this king of the wind is the very essence of a raptor. Be amazed as a bald eagle headlines this presentation, accompanied by hawks, owls, and falcons. Owl Prowl Duration: 1.5 hours Pricing: $300 Hike with us deep into the forest hunting for owls! Sound is the best way to identify our local owls- put on your big deer ears and prepare to hear and see some of our local residents. Includes a guided hike, owl artifacts and guaranteed live owls! Xtreme Raptor Day A day totally devoted to these magnificent birds! Beaks and Talons Pricing: $325 Which bird is the fastest? Which has silent flight? Join us for an interactive comparison of falcons, hawks and owls. This is an engaging and informative experience for all ages!
