February March 2014 Brandywine Valley Ski Association PO Box 549, Downingtown, PA 19335 www.brandywinevalleyski.com Dear Members: PREZ SEZ Welcome to 2014! What a great start to our ski season with lots of snow and sold out trips. Last I heard, there is 1 spot open for a male on the Tahoe trip, so I hope it is filled by the time you read this newsletter. Hope some of you have been to Bear Creek and Blue Mountain. Make us envious! Please remember that we are not having the February General Meeting at Bear Creek this year. We will have the meeting at the Brickside Grill at the usual time, 7:00pm. We have a special guest speaker for this meeting, so please come out and join us. This month is also the Walter Meuser Memorial Ski Trip in Killington. I want to thank Pat Mullins for arranging the trip once again and honoring one of BVSA s long term members. Killington was one of Walt s favorite places to ski. He is very much missed and this month is a time to remember and thank him for being a loving husband, father and dear friend to many members of our club. Go Walter! It is with a very wide range of emotions that I write to inform you that after much consideration, I have decided not to run again for Prez. We also have two other important positions to fill this year, Vice President and Newsletter Editor. I hope you will consider running for office and volunteering your time. I have been part of activities and the Board for 16 years and have pictures from 10 Downing Street where BVSA used to meet for our meetings. Now, Jeff Evons Dr. Express sits where 10 Downing Street used to reside. Small world eh? I am exceptionally proud of what we have accomplished together and I feel truly privileged to have been elected to lead such a great club. I have enjoyed being BVSA s President and I hope you feel I have provided good leadership and contributed, along with our Board, to the many successes of our club s social activities. My two years as President went by very quickly and I hope you appreciate the contributions made for our club, including our new venue, changes to our membership (new database management system that Barb Cropper implemented for BVSA), change to the general meeting time, all the great activities that the board and members sponsored and I hope you enjoyed the Prez Sez. Thank you for your continuing support and for your friendship. Hope to see you on Wednesday, February 5th and raise a glass to our fantastic members and our fun club. Cheers! You can get one for $30 bucks for Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean only, but not a national one. You must have one to go to Canada, they will not let you in without one! There is the old fort 1800 Fort Henry in Canada where the British shot at the US when they crossed the river. A worthwhile tour and they have the solders in uniform there acting out.
