About fifteen took part in the Public Stitch Day on the banks of the Maitai River on the 11 th. The weather was summery and we had a good time stitching in the open air, with several passers-by showing interest in what we were doing. It was great to see more than twenty people enjoying their stitching at Paretai too. There was lots of talk and laughter. Thank you to Peggy for the organisation and to Christine and Nadia for the wee projects. Will we see any finished on the Show and Tell table next meeting? The projects could be available at a Broadgreen stitch day for those who would like to do them but couldn t get to Paretai. Several workshops are being planned. Angela has agreed to teach a traditional Hilda Bottomley class doing hems and mitred corners -- great for beginners and those of us who need to brush up on these skills. It will run over two Saturdays in April and there will be a clip board to sign up for this at the March meeting. There will also be a clip board to register interest in other possible workshops later in the year. Happy stitching Catherine Check this out Jane Couch will be giving a Guild talk later in the year on Opus Anglicanum. Jane has been in touch with the V&A museum and they have recommended the following video clip on medieval embroidery. It is beautifully done and well worth a quiet look. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgn7osgcf5g Diary Dates 1.
