S P R I N G I S S U E P A G E 5 Executive Director Position Just a quick update on the Executive Director position at HCHA. Rick Ruzicka who has led the very capable team at HCHA for almost 20 years, has taken a position with the State of Oregon effective 12/29/2017. We would like to wish Rick well in his new adventure directing the housing programs in Oregon. Effective January 1, 2018, the Board of Commissioners has selected Jeanne Leick, former Deputy Director at Hall County Housing Authority, as the new Executive Director. Prior to coming to HCHA in 2009, Ms. Leick was the Executive Director of the Gothenburg Housing Authority for 7 years. Jeanne considers herself very fortunate to have been chosen to lead the wonderful team here at HCHA. Jeanne is looking forward to continuing to serve the community by providing housing and will continue to develop partnerships with others in the community to further the mission of housing in Hall County. Scattered Site Contest There will be a best lawn contest for scattered sites beginning May 2018. The best lawn is defined as the most attractive. This includes pulling weeds and crabgrass, trimming, mowing and watering the lawn as needed. There will be prizes given out for this contest. A reminder about the parking policy for residents of Golden Towers, Centennial Towers, Pletcher Terrace, Rainbow Terrace, and Island Terrace. *HCHA does not have assigned parking stalls for visitors or shortterm guests. Nobody is entitled to any parking spot. Any open spot Parking policy reminders may be parked in by any resident or short-term guest. A resident who intimidates or mispresents this policy in any way, including claiming to have their own spot is subject to violating the terms of their lease agreement *Residents are to report any violations of the parking policy to the HCHA Office. No residents are authorized to enforce the parking policy. For example, informing others where they can and cannot park. *All vehicles parked in the handicap designated areas must have their handicap stickers properly displayed. Or, risk towing, fines, or both. Other Thoughts: The street is city property; unfortunately, there are no assigned parking spots for anyone. It all boils down to first come, first serve and common courtesy from residents. Be courteous of one another and their guests when parking. Take your turn because there are other residents that need the accessible parking as well. THE HUD HERALD
