Oct 30 Lone Tree Koala Park / Cairns Start our third day with a trip to the Tree Koala Park to spot the native marsupials, including both Koalas and Kangaroos. The park s range of unique photo opportunities makes this stop a fun and ideal place for taking memorable pictures. Our afternoon involves a flight to Cairns, the gateway of 5-7 Queensland s tropical north region, and transfer to our evening accommodations in the local city center. Here travelers will have a wealth of outdoor dining options to taste fresh local seafood. Oct 31 Great Barrier Reef Today s agenda features a trip by vessel to the Great Barrier Reef, an iconic Australian treasure. Explore the reef from a covered platform built into the side of this natural wonder. From the platform, travelers may snorkel, swim, or watch the awe-inspiring underwater life forms from the platform s special viewing area. You will also have the opportunity to cruise around the reef in a semi-submersible vehicle. Nov 1 Kuranda On the fifth day of our Australian voyage, we will take a tram ride across the rain forest treetops to the Aboriginal village of Kuranda. The ride will include two stops where travelers are able to walk picturesque nature trails and witness the awesome essence of the rain forest firsthand. Nov 9 Penguin Place Today s agenda includes a train ride through the Tieri Gorge then onto the renowned Penguin Place, the natural habitat of the Yellow-eyed Penguin that is nestled in the Dunedin Peninsula. This evening will immerse travelers into the New Zealand culture as we head to a local restaurant for a popular family-style dinner. Nov 10 Mt. Cook Travelers will be surrounded by natural beauty today as we take a day trip to Mt. Cook s well-known Hermitage Lodge. Here we will delight in the area s various walking trails, including one that leads to a breathtaking nearby glacier, before enjoying a group dinner at the lodge. Nov 11 Christchurch Our coach trip scheduled for today will bring us to Christchurch as our driver details the tumultuous geological environment the locals here face by living in this earthquake-ridden region. 18-19 Nov 12 Rotorua After arriving in Rotorua on the North Island of New Zealand via flight today, we have the unique opportunity to take part in a Maori Hangi, a luau-like celebration that will shed light on the fascinating culture of New Zealand s indigenous people, the Maori. Nov 13 Agrodome Today tour the Agrodome, a working 350-acre sheep farm that outlines the great importance of the animal to both the economy and culture of New Zealand. Travelers will have free time this afternoon to explore the surrounding areas of Rotorua, whether it be the nearby geothermal spas, eco-tours, or extensive museums and galleries. Nov 14-15 Hobbiton Return to U.S. The final day of our New Zealand journey brings us to Hobbiton, the large constructed project that became one of the major sets of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings movies. After touring the areas where many of the movies most iconic moments were filmed, we will continue on to the Auckland airport for our flight home to the United States.
