Vol V Issue X October 2017 GVK MIAL receives Letter of Award for the Navi Mumbai International Airport Our founder Chairman Dr GVK Reddy along with Vice Chairman Mr G V Sanjay Reddy and Mr R. K. Jain, CEO GVK MIAL made a courtesy call on the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Mr Devendra Fadnavis and discussed the NMIA project Mr R. K. Jain, CEO GVK MIAL received the Letter of Award (LOA) on 25 th October 2017 from Mr Bhushan Gagrani, Vice Chairman and MD of CIDCO, the nodal agency of the Government of Maharashtra for the Navi Mumbai International Airport. In February 2017, GVK MIAL was declared the winning bidder for the Greenfield airport that will be built on 1,160 hectares in a Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode with CIDCO. GVK MIAL will hold a 74 per cent stake while the remaining 26 per cent will be with CIDCO. Dr GVK Reddy, our founder Chairman and Managing Director and also Executive Chairman, MIAL said, We are delighted that GVK has been awarded this exciting project. In collaboration with CIDCO, the Government of Maharashtra and the Government of India, we are confident of providing yet another landmark airport for the city of Mumbai. The invaluable experience that our team gained whilst developing the Mumbai airport will be very useful and will enable us to deliver yet another world class facility. GVK is committed to develop its airport business globally and the award of the Navi Mumbai project to us is another major step in this direction. Mr Sanjeev Taneja CFO, GVK MIAL receiving the award from Hon ble President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind GVK AIRPORTS GVK CSIA bags National Tourism Award a corporate e-zine GVK CSIA, Mumbai bagged the prestigious National Tourism Award 2015-16 for the second consecutive year under the category of Best Airports in Class X (metro) Cities from the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. The award was presented by the Hon ble President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind. The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India acknowledges various divisions and segments of tourism industry for their contributions to promote and support the strength of the Tourism Industry every year. The major criteria for selection included creation of world class tourist friendly infrastructure, maintenance and upkeep of the airport, adoption of sustainable practices etc. GVK CSIA emerged at the top across all parameters. Congratulations to team MIAL on this significant achievement. Two postage stamps issued to commemorate GVK CSIA s 75 years of operations Two postage stamps of Rs 5 and Rs 15 were issued by the Department of Post on the completion of 75 years of operations of the GVK Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport at an event in Mumbai on 15 October, 2017. The event was held on the 15th as it was on this date in 1932 that the Late JRD Tata piloted the first flight of Tata Air Services from Karachi to Mumbai via Ahmedabad carrying airmail. The stamps were released by Mr H C Agrawal, Chief Postmaster General, Maharashtra Circle in the presence of Mr R. K. Jain, CEO, GVK MIAL and other invited dignitaries. This is the first time in the history of Indian Aviation that a stamp on an Airport was issued by the Department of Post. Dr GVK Reddy, Founder Chairman and Managing Director, GVK and also Executive Chairman, MIAL said, It is a matter of great pride and honour for us at GVK to have been involved during the last ten years in the Mumbai Airport s incredible journey of 75 years. We ventured into the aviation sector in 2006 when we were given the mandate to operate, manage and develop the Mumbai Airport, and set about our task of transforming the airport into a world-class facility. While facing innumerable challenges we have been able to accomplish our vision of creating an edifice worthy of being the pride of Mumbai and India.

GVK AIRPORTS GVK CSIA receives Procurement Excellence Award 2017 Mr Sumit Mukherjee (2 nd from left), Assistant Vice President, Operations Procurement along with Mr Jatin Jain (3 rd from left), Assistant General Manager, Operations Procurement, MIAL receiving the award GVK CSIA received the prestigious Procurement Excellence Award 2017, in the Airport Industry, for the second consecutive year at the 5 th Procurement Excellence Awards, 2017. The Procurement Excellence Awards recognise and celebrate those individuals and companies that have continually set standards of excellence. Mr Sumit Mukherjee, assistant vice president, operations procurement, MIAL was also recognized as Young Procurement Leader of the Year for the 2 nd consecutive year at the event. Congratulations to Mr Mukherjee and the entire procurement team at MIAL on this achievement. GVK MIAL conducts Internal Auditor Program GVK MIAL conducted a two day ISO 50001:2011 Energy Management System an Internal Auditors program for the functional team of Engineering & Maintenance and HR L&D departments on 4 and 5 October. The main objective of the program was to train the employee about the various Auditing procedures of the Energy Management System. The training was conducted by Mr Maheswaran, lead Auditor of DNV GL which is an internationally accredited auditor firm operating in more than 100 countries with 350 offices. GVK CSIA welcomes Thai Lion Air GVK CSIA welcomed Thai Lion Air which began its operations from Mumbai to Don Mueang route on 27 September, 2017. The low cost carrier has started flights twice a week and they plan to increase the frequency to thrice a week. These services will help the flyers who want to explore South East Asia from Mumbai on a low budget.

GVK Corporate office Mr Murali Varadarajan at the Smart Airport Europe 2017 Mr Murali Varadarajan, Vice President and Executive Assistant to Chairman, GVK attended the Smart Airport Europe 2017 conference held in Munich, Germany from 9 to 12 October 2017 where he presented a paper on the Indian Aviation Industry and also how GVK is contributing to Indian aviation space through the world class integrated GVK CSIA in Mumbai. The conference was attended by various aviation experts and representatives of aviation sector from across the world. Smart Airports is a great global platform for aviation experts and aviation service providers to interact with stimulating topics and information. GVK ENERGY Shrinagar HEP generates record production of electricity The GVK Alaknanda Hydro Power Company Ltd generated and transmitted over 3580 million units of electricity since it commenced operations in April 2015. During the August month itself, the plant generated a record production of 252.089 million units of energy. This is the highest production recorded in a month since commissioning. Shrinagar HEP is a 330 MW hydroelectric project that is located on the river Alaknanda in Tehri / Pauri Garhwal District of Uttarakhand. GVK TRANSPORTATION Deoli-Kota expressway conducts training program Deoli-Kota expressway conducted a training program for route patrolling officers removing of unauthorized encroachments in ROW in the entire project corridor of Kishorpura toll plaza on 9 October, 2017. All employees and associates have participated in the training to understand how to identify unauthorized movements in the ROW at toll plaza. GVK HOSPITALITY Taj Deccan Bed making competition Healthy competition always boosts employees to perform their best and bring out their inner talents. Taj Deccan organized a bed making competition for the housekeeping staff on 4th October. All the associates actively participated in the competition and Mr Rakesh was awarded the first prize after qualifying in various rounds. Supporting a noble cause Taj Deccan always believes in giving back to society. They organized a sale of Kondapalli handicrafts in the hotel premises to promote handicrafts and also to raise funds for the benefit of underprivileged children. All the employees and senior officials purchased the various handmade items and also donated for the noble cause to make this event a grand success. Eye for detail competition Taj Deccan organized an eye for the detail competition for housekeeping staff to motivate them while working. They had to find out the wrong things from traps and disorganized work in the hotel room. It was fun-filled and the exciting employee engagement activities drew an active participation from the associates. Mr Akash Jena was declared the winner as he noticed the maximum fault points in the disorganized room.

Special session for Students GVK HOSPITALITY Taj Krishna Team Taj Krishna in association with Tata STRIVE conducted a special session for the students in Hyderabad to meet the growing demand of various skilled workforces in the Hotel Industry. A team of volunteers from Taj Krishna has conducted various sessions on different topics to nurture the youth of Hyderabad. Mr Rakesh Pai, Security Manager conducted the session on Work Place Challenges and How to Deal With That while Mr Sharique, Director of Engineering shared his experience on Conflict Management and Ms Sangeeta Singh, HR on Change Management. Visits Girls School in Telangana Team Taj Krishna in collaboration with Tata Business Support Services visited a girls school to support the good work of the Telangana Society for Social Welfare under the government of Telangana which provides quality education to the needy and underprivileged children in the state. They conducted a special session on menstrual hygiene to create awareness about the importance of hygiene during this time to the teenage girls of the school. The team was escorted by a lady doctor from the Star Hospitals who explained about how to deal with the changes physically and emotionally in the body during the teenage and also distributed sanitary napkins to the school girls. Visits to Pawmencap in Hyderabad As part of the ongoing TATA Volunteering Week, Taj Krishna employees visited an NGO Pawmencap in Hyderabad to support their noble cause by spending quality time with kids and distributed color books and crayons. They also served pastries and patties to the kids of NGO who enjoyed with their broad smiles. Pawmencap is the registered NGO for the welfare of the mentally handicapped person which cater 285 children and adults in Hyderabad. Taj Banjara Tata Capital help desk Taj Banjara organized a help desk to its employees to create awareness about the new schemes and resolve their financial queries and problems. This scheme was specially announced for the Taj Group employees wherein they can avail various facilities at a very affordable low rate of interest.

GVK HOSPITALITY Taj Banjara Town hall meeting Taj Banjara conducted town hall meeting for the employees to brief on the vision, mission, brand promises and core values of Taj along with the performance of various departments. This meeting was most awaited since there were interesting employee engagement activities conducted, such as Employee of the Month, Safety Champ, Birthday Celebrations, various Fun Games and many other awards and recognitions for the employees. The Security Manager played a video on road safety to create awareness about the road safety measures. Employees also shared their feedback and suggestions on various aspects. The movie Bahubali - the conclusion was screened for the employees in the banquet hall of the hotel. All the employees enjoyed the movie and popcorn and cold drinks were also served to give them a real time experience of an actual movie theatre! Quiz contest for trainees Team L&D at Taj Banjara conducted a quiz contest for the trainees to provide an in-depth knowledge about the Taj hotel and to know what they have learned about the hotel so far. A mixed bag of questions on different topics related with their work were asked to the trainees in various rounds and also the rapid fire round gave a chance to the team to interact with the leaders and engage in healthy competition. Winners from different teams were acknowledged with awards and a certificate after the contest which was followed by refreshments.

GVK BIO GVK BIO at CPhi Worldwide GVK BIO s Chemical Development, Manufacturing and Analytical Solutions teams participated at the CPhi Worldwide 2017 held in Frankfurt to showcase their capabilities at the event. More than 42,000 pharma professionals participated in the three day event along with over 2,500 exhibitors from 153 countries and also followed by 150 industry seminars on different topics on the pharmaceutical industry. GVK ONE GVK ONE celebrates Dussehra puja GVK ONE celebrated the Dussehra puja with great enthusiasm in the mall premises. Mr Sanjay Bansal, Head, GVK ONE mall, Mr. K. Sreenivasu, AVP, Projects & Maintenance, Mr. Anand Rao, AGM, Finance & Accounts, Mr Ramakrishna Rao, Dy. Manager Electrical along with other associates participated in the puja ceremony organized by the mall. GVK ONE organizes WIN AT ONE GVK ONE organized their WIN AT ONE shopping festival again to engage their customers during October. The shopping festival entertained customers with various offers, prizes and music with fun games. This shopping festival is the most awaited festival of Hyderabad known for rewarding and recognizing their valued customers to enhance their shopping excitement. The entire mall was decorated with lights, art and crafts during the festival.

GVK EMRI GVK EMRI-Chhattisgarh pilots honoured at Chalak Diwas The pilots of 108 and 102 and captains of GVK EMRI-Chhattisgarh were honoured at Chalak Diwas organized by the traffic police in the Durg district in the state, for their selfless dedication towards saving precious lives. The first ever of its kind Chalak Diwas was organized to honour the drivers for their exemplary dedication for highly essential services like driving an ambulance and other public utility vehicles. Chalak Diwas was attended by 500 drivers of Sanjivani Ambulance, Mahtart Van, City Bus, Highway patrolling, and cranes etc. The main theme of Chalak Diwas was Safe Driving Secured life. GVK EMRI - Gujarat launches 104 helpline Hon ble Shri Shankar Chaudhary, Minister of State, Health and Family Welfare, Medical Education, Environment and Urban Development, Govt of Gujarat along with other dignitaries launched 104 helpline in the State on 16 October 2017. The objective of the Healthcare Helpline is to provide health advice, information on health care and counselling to the needy people especially from the remote locations, facing difficulties in gaining access to or getting information from qualified medical professionals. Since GVK EMRI launched in the state of Gujarat on August 29 in 2007, 108 has handled more than 80 lakh emergencies - over 1, 00,000 in the month of September alone including 77,322 deliveries and over 6 lakh lives saved in the state with 585 ambulances. GVK EMRI Chhattisgarh organizes health check-up camp GVK EMRI Chhattisgarh organized a free health check-up camp in the state for its associates on 29 September 2017 on the occasion of World Heart Day. Both 108 and 102 teams participated in the camp to make this event successful. GVK EMRI Rajasthan launches mobile dental van GVK EMRI Rajasthan launched three mobile dental vans in Jaipur to help the children who do not have the facility for quality dental care on 2 October 2017. Hon ble Minister, Medical & Health, Govt of Rajasthan Shri. Kalicharan Saraf in the presence of Smt. Veenu Gupta, Principal Secretary Health, Shri Naveen Jain MD- NHM- and other dignitaries of government and GVK EMRI, flagged off the three mobile dental vans under Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) in the state. This van will visit those areas where the dental care facility is not available. State Government identified 78,000 children who need treatment for their dental problems. The Dental mobile van is the first of its kind in the country and Rajasthan is the first state to launch it.
