HIPPOS FACE-OFF IN TORONTO TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA SEPT. 10-12, 2010 SATURDAY - Toronto Zoo Scarborough, ON TEL--416 392 5929 Open 9am to 6pm Main entrance to Zoo is on Meadowvale Rd. (North of Hwy 401) In Toronto, Take Hwy 401 (east or west) to Meadowvale Rd. Exit #389. Go North on Meadowvale Rd and follow signs to Zoo entrance. (see detailed maps attached) MEET in the lobby Sat AM NO later than 9AM. We are to meet At zoo entrance at 10am. There should be 41 of us and they will need to count--then John will pay for all with a credit card---41 for zoo entrance and everybody got the zoomobile too!! Micky and her daughter have a membership, so will meet us there at 10am too. That makes a total group count of 43! Allow approx 45 mins to GET there. Parking is $10 per car. Meet in lobby and figure out who you will drive with (see attached driver list) ---take note how long the driver will be staying at zoo--and If they are then returning to the hotel first, or going directly to the PUB. Before we head in our own directions, we first meet for group photos, so bring those cameras!!! No later than 11:45am, everybody meet at the Ranger Station--near the hippo area. We will meet first with Debbie Forrest there and she will take us on to the hippo area to meet up with hippos and a zookeeper at noon. If you want to meet there with less walking and less incline walking--take the zoomobile to the Giraffe Exhibit--called Twiga Duka Stop---get off there as it will not get you any closer to the ranger station or hippos. It will be about another 10 min. walk to the hippo area IF you don't stop to view anything else--less to the Ranger Station. Probably more if ya walk slow--like me:-) It is more flat terrain in this area. If you want to walk to the hippo area from the main gate, it is more inclined and will take longer to get to the hippos. Zoomobile--when we are at the entrance to pay, we will All get wristbands to wear for the zoomobile. You can ride it all day and you can only get on and off at zoomobile stops. Leave zoo whenever ya want to---make sure you have a ride:-):-) Allow enough time to get to the pub by 6pm.

DIRECTIONS FROM TORONTO HILTON TO QUEENS QUAY ROAD ALONG DOCKS There are two main roads that connect the Hilton to the Dock of the Jubilee Queen. Method 1 - From the west exit of the hotel, drive south on University Ave. Several blocks south it will bend east and connect to York Road. Go right on York Rd. and continue through tunnel under rail lines and a tunnel under Gardiner Expressway/Lake Shore Drive. Turn right on Queens Quay. Following instructions on Queens Quay to Dock in next picture. Method 2 From the west exit of the Hilton, go west on Richmond six blocks to Spadina. Turn left and proceed south over railroad tracks and under Gardiner Expressway/Lake Shore to Queens Quay. Turn right and follow second set of directions.

DIRECTIONS FROM QUEENS QUAY TO DOCK OF JUBILEE QUEEN CRUISE SHIP If you are Heading West along Queens Quay you will pass a Coffee Time Donuts (@ Lower Spadina). At the next set of lights (Dan Leckie Way) past the coffee time you will make a left and do u-turn so that you are now heading East on Queens Quay. Just after you make the u-turn you will make your first right into Spadina pier 6 parking lot (539 Queens Quay West). To your right you will see a smaller boat called the Island Princess (Summer Only) followed by a larger boat with a red paddle wheel (The Jubilee Queen Cruise Ship). If you look to your left you will notice a small kiosk which is where you drive up to pay for the underground parking right next to the ship. If you are Heading East along Queens Quay (Past Bathurst Street) you will make the first right after Dan Leckie Way into the Spadina pier 6 parking lot (539 Queens Quay West). To your right you will see two smaller boats (Summer Only) followed by a larger boat with a red paddle wheel (The Jubilee Queen Cruise Ship). If you look to your left you will notice a small kiosk which is where you drive up to pay for the underground parking right next to the ship.

Public Transit From Hilton Hotel To Jubilee Cruises There are many different ways of getting to the ship via public transit. From the Hilton, you would take the TTC at the Osgoode station going to Union Station. From the Union Station you will have to take the 510 street car across Queens Quay to get to the there. The 510 schedule can be obtained by visiting the Toronto Transit Commission Website (TTC). Once the westbound 510 streetcar arrives at Lower Spadina (Look for the Coffee Time Donuts) it heads north to the Bloor / Danforth subway station. Guests coming to the ship should get off the street car at this point and head west on Queens Quay till you reach the street called Dan Leckie Way which is about a 2 to 3 minute walk from where you got off the streetcar. Proceed down the driveway on the South East corner of Dan Leckie Way and Queens Quay until you reach the ship. *The 510 boards & travels underground from Union Station to Queens Quay. Another option is to take the 509 street car which travels East and West across Queens Quay from Exhibition Place rto Union Station. By taking the 509 from the West to the East you are also able to get off the street car at the end of the driveway where the ship is docked avoiding the walk from Lower Spadina to the ship. If you are taking the 509 from East to West you will either have to get off the Street car at Lower Spadina & Queens Quay (450 meter walk to ship) or at Bathurst Street & Queens Quay (190 meter walk to ship).
