Bratty Hall The Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 is Canada s sixth national museum and only the second located outside of the National Capital Region. The Museum collects, shares and pays tribute to the Canadian immigration story. Frequently Asked Questions How does food and beverage service work at the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21? RCR Hospitality Group is the exclusive food and beverage provider for the Museum. They also hold the liquor license for our facility. All food and beverage must be arranged through RCR Hospitality Group. The Museum limits the service of alcoholic beverages in the Museum and public areas until after 5:30 p.m. when the Museum closes. During Museum hours, alcohol is only permitted in private meeting areas. For more information, visit www.rcr.ca. Are there special rates for booking more than one room for an event? We offer combined rental fees when booking multiple rooms or multiple days. Our most popular room rental combinations are outlined in the attached rental rates chart. Please inquire directly with a member of our Facility Rentals team for rates for other rental combinations. Are there special rates for not-for-profit and government events? The Museum offers a discounted rate on some rooms to registered not-for-profit and government organizations. Please inquire directly with a member of our Facility Rentals team. How do we apply for music licencing fees? The Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 is bound to collect and remit licencing fees on behalf of SOCAN and Re:Sound. Both of these organizations levy fees in Canada for all events in which recorded music or live entertainment is employed. SOCAN (the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada) represents music creators and publishers; Re:Sound represents artists and record companies. Both organizations are governed by the Copyright Board of Canada. Frequently Asked Questions Are guests allowed to visit the Museum s permanent exhibitions (Rudolph P. Bratty Hall and Canadian Immigration Hall)? The Museum s exhibitions are open to the public during regular hours of operation (9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. seven days a week during peak season) and admission fees do apply. The Rudolph P. Bratty Hall and the Canadian Immigration Hall can be rented for private functions outside of Museum hours or a special group admission rate can be negotiated for tours during regular operating hours. Please note food and beverage is not permitted in the Rudolph P. Bratty Hall and Canadian Immigration Hall during regular hours but is permitted in Rudolph P. Bratty Hall only for after hour functions. Will cruise ships interfere with our view of the harbour? During cruise ship season (April to November), the view can be blocked by cruise ships and/or cruise ship ramps. A harbour view cannot be guaranteed during this time. Yes, the Museum has multiple rental spaces available and reserves the right to schedule more than one event at a time, or within a day. When booking a rental space, please allow time for set-up and tear-down of your event. We make every effort to consider the nature of events taking place in order to minimize any potential conflict. What is your Cancellation Policy? After the date the contract is signed, cancellation terms are as follows: Signing of the agreement to 60 days before the event = 50% of the full rental fee 59 days to 30 days before the event = 75% of the full rental fee 29 days to 0 days before the event = 100% of the full rental fee Is there parking at the Museum? There is a large paved parking lot to the right of the Museum entrance. Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. parking is $2.00 per hour to a maximum of $10.00 per day. On weekends, evenings (6 p.m. to 8 a.m.) and holidays parking is complimentary. On-street metered parking is also available near the entrance. Do I require insurance to host my event at the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21? A certificate of insurance is requested for all events hosted at the Museum. Insurance may be secured through your preferred supplier or arranged directly through the Museum s broker.
