Directors Message Well this Newsletter is pretty lean - because last month's Newsletter picked up all our recent events. However, that doesn't mean we don't have a busy end of year. Progressive Dinner 2 weeks away. Nov 5 Toys for Tots / Drive to Sonoma and Breakfast Nov 20 BCR Afternoon Holiday Party Dec 10 - at Willie Birds Restaurant and Dessert and Pirates Gift exchange at Gail and Stan's home. And bring your IDEAS to our Planning Brunch on January 14, 2017 - Details to follow. Or send ideas to me - and I will be sure to include in discussion (should you not be able to attend). We added a few different ideas this year that were enjoyed by all that were able to participate. It's really great that we have club members who continue to support our club and planning efforts and are willing to lead the effort on the day of an event. I believe it really shares the camaraderie of the group and promotes new ideas and energy to the club. Nominations and Elections will be held in Nov / Dec and hope anyone - willing to continue orchestrate this club through another eventful year will step up to the plate. See you all on Nov 5th or upcoming event or meeting. Happy Buicking 3
MINUTES OF THE BUICK CLUB OF THE REDWOODS October 12, 2016 MEETING Director, April Kahnberg, called the meeting to order at 6:53 pm. Members in attendance were Don and Lois Brooner, Joan Costello, Terry Eggleston, Michelle LaVoie, Rich and April Kahnberg, Ben Karnes and Leo Ladner. Our guest for the evening was Will Norton. April welcomed all attendees especially our returning guest, Will, who has a 1950 Super 2-door Hardtop. A motion was passed to accept the minutes of the September meeting as published in the Nailhead News. Rich gave the Treasurer's report. There was a deposit of $40.00 from dues and a sweatshirt. A check was written for the docent on the USS Hornet tour and there is an outstanding check of $75.00 for the prizes for the Poker Run. We have 24 current members with one membership pending. The 1 st of December, Rich will send out renewal reminders with a BCR membership application and a self-addressed return envelope. Membership dues are $20.00 per year. Rich would like all renewals completed by the end of January so the new roster can be posted to the website. BCA requires that every member of a Chapter Club be a BCA member in good standing and have a current club application on file each year. Rich recently spoke to one of our charter members, Jack Wilson, who sadly reported that his wife, Juanita, is not doing well. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Wilson family. OLD BUSINESS All members who attended our recent Poker Run agreed that it was a fun day and we would like to see another Poker Run in our future. The event was very well organized, a beautiful drive through country roads, fun stops along the way and a great lunch at the end. Thank you, Gail and Stan, for organizing this wonderful event. April has had no updates on the 2018 National Meet. Pete Phillips, the editor of the Buick Bugle, gave the Nailhead News a compliment for its excellence. April extended the compliment to all club members who continue to contribute to the Nailhead News. 4
