JUNE 2007 http://groups.msn.com/antiqueautomushersofalaska Shake-Down Cruise a Success! Cruise leader Jeff Hassler met eight cars at the Northway Mall on Saturday morning, May 26 for the shake-down cruise to Hatcher Pass lodge. Ken Holland,Bob Bartlett, Gwen and Mike Weidmer, Barb and Howard Hansen, Marl and Bruce Campbell, Jim Fredenhagen, Scott Hulse and his mom Clare, Sara Stoops, and Ken and Rhea Evans and three darling granddaughters all left Northway for an enjoyable trouble free drive to Hatcher Pass. Marcy and Tom Cresap and Betty and Lee Plummer were waiting for us in Eagle River and we found Art and Tamea Isham along the roadside picking up trash. The drive to the lodge was beautiful and the cars cooperated. Everyone enjoyed a delicious meal and some just sumptuous pie. When the group was ready to leave for home, Marcy presented Jeff with a large bag of Cheetos as a thank you for a great trip. The Cheetos date back to a previous trip where someones hand was found in the Cheeto Bag! Outside of a few generator/battery problems with Sara Stoops 36 Cadilac and a quick push on the drive home, everyone had a successful cruise and enjoyed a pleasant day. Thanks to all who enjoyed the day with us.. Betty and Jeff Hassler. Enjoying Lunch and talk at thelodge. Meeting at Northway Mall RRhea, Ken and Grandchildern

JUNE 2007 Tinkering Times PAGE 2 President Jim s Corner Hi Tinkerers, Seems like an Alaskan summer is just like the Indy 500, the green flag drops, and it s a mad scramble to pack projects, vacations, and as much pleasure into 16 weeks as humanly possible. If this wasn t such a gorgeous place I think we would go nuts! Looking forward to the Whitehorse -Juneau trip to break out of the rat race a bit. Thank you in advance, Bruce, for you attention to detail. It should be a great time. Thanks also to Wiedmers for shepherding both the Mother s Day and Adopt-a-Road events. At the June meeting, Dick Henningsen will tell us about a group called Adopt-a- Chaplain that works with aid for our troops in Iraq.
