This is a residential area, and we were here before Porter. The city has a by-law against excessive idling. Why is this even allowed? This issue has been discussed with the bus company and they have issued protocol procedures to their drivers. Page 4 of 9
14/3/29 9:3: AM H-4 Non - Aircraft Related It s lovely sunny morning, and the Island Airport is in Spring training... soon I won t be able to walk my dog on the harbourfront at all, today we had bangers at 9:3 and later in the day at 4:. The volley of noise from ineffecitve bird control techniques gets progressively worse thru Spring and into Summer. Your wildlife study started in the Fall, how are we doing on that? Here s a clue, there are birds, geese, etc Please control them with falcons and border collies not bangers and streamers. The wildlife study is ongoing with final monitoring of bird activity during the spring season. Final report is expected mid-year. 15/3/29 1:4: PM Unidentified B-5 very loud engine noise from more than one source at 12 58 pm, 1 4, 1 6 pm Several aircraft in vicinity at time of report. 19/3/29 11:4: PM B-5 loud crashes at Bathurst ferry terminal Non - Aircraft Related No unusual operations noted at time of report. 3/3/29 8:3: PM J-6 Non - Aircraft Related This is not a noise complaint, but a legitimate complaint about goings-on at TCCA. There are 2 very bright flood-type lights streaming across the airport shining right in all the south-facing windows of buildings on Queens Quay. I phoned TCCA and was told it was the construction people doing some work this evening and needed light. The person from TCCA also told me he d had several complaints and has asked the construction people to turn the lights off. Evidently TCCA and local residents don t count as these construction guys just do whatever the hell they want anyway. If this happens again, you can be sure I will be complaining to the city and other groups to stop this nonsense. It s completely inconsiderate and boorish. It s 9:2 pm as I write this and the lights are still on. Absolutely disgusting. We have notified the construction company of the negative impact caused by the lights on some of our neighbours, and they will make every effort to minimize this from happening in the future.
