AWNINGS INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS AND OWNER'S MANUAL For trailers & motor homes with straight sides TOOLS REQUIRED 1/4" electric drill Ratchet handle kit 3/8" & 7/16" socket No. 1 and No. 2 screwdriver Standard screwdriver 3/32" bit 1/4" bit File Pliers Extension cord Step ladder

READ VERY CAREFULLY THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE INSTALLATION. TAKE PRECAUTIONS TO PREVENT INJURIES OR DAMAGES TO YOUR AWNING OR VEHICLE. NOTE: All damage caused while installing, is not covered by warranty. 1 PREPARATION A. Verify if the vehicule is equiped with an awning rail, if not, install one with screws or rivet. B. Decide where arms will fit not to interfere with lights, vent, mirrors, etc. Must be in even distance between center of brackets and should extend over the doorway. C. Cover any sharp object with padding (rag or paper) and masking tape to avoid scratching holes in awning when threading into awning rail channel. Strengthen and smooth awning rail. Use a screwdriver to spread one end slightly to allow easy insertion. Silicone spray will make insersion easier. Use a smooth file to round off the sharp corners of the rail, or any abrasions. IF TRAILER HAS NO AWNING RAIL, MOUNT ONE WITH RIVETS OR HEX SCREWS IF JOINTS ARE NOT PERFECTLY ALIGNED, OPEN NEXT SECTION DISTANCE BETWEEN BOTTOM BRACKETS MUST BE THE SAME AS BETWEEN THE TOP BRACKETS, WITHIN 1/2" 2 INSTALLATION DES OF DOOR ROLLERS NOTE: TO AVOID DAMAGE TO AWNING FABRIC, IT IS RECOMMENDED TO MOUNT ROLLERS ON BOTH DOORS BEFORE INSTALLING THE AWNING. A. Install the biggest roller on the exterior door with an 12 x 1/2" hexagonal screw. B. Install the small roller on the inner door with a 6 x 1/2" round head screw. C. To file the corners of the doors would be a good precaution. SCREEN DOOR DOOR DISC OUTER DOOR 3 PREPARATION OF THE AWNING A. Remove the awning from the cardboard tube and the plastic bag. NOTE: A very special care should be taken while doing this operation so you won't damage the fabric with the tools you use. B. Place the awning on a very clean surface. NOTE: Tension has been given to the springs depending on the lenght of the awning at the factory. Do not remove the cotter-pin holding the tension on the left spring or the nylon holder on the right spring. NOTE: The terms LEFT AND RIGHT are used when facing the side of the unit where awning is to be installed.

4 ARMS AND ROLLER ASSEMBLY A. Remove the arms from the box and determine whether left or right. The right arm (the one that has two handles on the side of arm) is to be installed to the spring that has the nylon holder. B. Install the left arm on the roller first. To do this, slide the top of the arm in the top plug and secure the arm with an 8 x 3/4" screw. NOTE: DO NOT REMOVE COTTER-PIN HOLDING TENSION ON THE LEFT SPRING. C. Install the right arm sliding it in the top plug and secure with 8 x 3/4" screw. D. Assemble the locking lever of the roller in the P bracket. NOTE: Make sure the two arms are well in place in the top plug and the cotter-pin holding the left spring is still in place. Then, you can remove the plastic holder on the right spring to make the next operation easier. P BRACKET RIGHT SPRING LOCKING PIN 1. The assembly of the locking pin will be easier if you move the right arm to the exterior, then push the interior handle on the side of the arm upwards, insert the locking lever in the P bracket and bring back the arm to its original position. (See fig. No 1). 2. Following this operation, keep the inside handle upwards in the UNLOCK POSITION ARM # 1 Fig. 1 5 TO INSTALL YOUR AWNING A. Remove the masking tape around the roller. B. Unrool the fabric one turn around the roller, this is to give you some space between the awning and the unit while inserting the awning in the rail. C. With some help lift the arms in a vertical position along side the unit. D. To make the insertion of the awning in the rail easier adjust the height of the arms in the position wanted by pulling on the handle situated at the back of both arms. Hold the arm firmly while releasing the handle and let, the awning down slowly so that the handle will lock the arms in place automatically. SUPPORT ARM REAR MAIN SUPPORT ARM HELPER AWNING FRONT MAIN SUPPORT ARM INSTALLER AWNING RAIL Fig. 2 E. Now, carry the complete awning towards the rear of the unit uintil the front arm comes in front of the rail end. Slide in slowly the canvas by using a step ladder. After a few feet in, you now can slide in the whole awning. Make sure to keep tension on the canvas so you will eliminate friction and it will make the operation easier. (See Fig. 2)

6 TOP BRACKET INSTALLATION NOTE: BEFORE INSTALLING TOP BRACKET MAKE SURE YOUR AWNING IS EXACTLY WHERE YOU WANT IT ON THE UNIT. UNLOCK THE EXTERIOR HANDLES ON THE RIGHT AND LEFT ARMS, THIS WILL FREE THE BRACKETS SO YOU CAN MARK WHERE THE HOLES SHOULD BE DRILLED BEFORE SCREWING THE BRACKETS ON THE UNIT. A. Mount top bracket of right arm over the awning rail with a 1/4 x 2 1/2 lag screw. The bracket must not angle inwards or a poor lock will result. Holes are slotted to allow you to make minor adjustment. See fig. 3. B. Before mounting the left bracket make sure that the automatic lock is well centered in the opening of the right arm. (See fig. No 4). You might have to adjust the height of the arms so the awning will lock better. Refer to 5- D for the procedure. AWNING RAIL TOP BRACKET 1/4 x 2 1/2" LAG SCREW Fig. 3 ARM #3 CENTER THE AUTOMATIC LOCK EXACTLY WITH THE HOLE LOCKING HANDLE Fig. 4 RIGHT ARM #1 C. When the right arm is well in ligne and the automatic lock is centered in the hole of the arm, center the left arm the same as the right arm and then mount your top bracket over the awning rail and mark your holes before drilling and fixing the bracket as you did with the right arm. D. While making sure that the interior locking handle of the right arm is in "Unlock position" you can now remove with pliers the cutter-pin holding the tension on the left spring. E. With the help of the metal pull strap, hold back the awning by the nylon hook in the center of the awning and then pull down the locking handle on the interior of the arm. Release the awning slowly until it is completely rolled up.

7 BOTTOM BRACKET INSTALLATION A. Ligne the awning vertically with a window or a door. Using the lifting handle behind the arm, adjust the bracket at the height of the unit floor. One side at the time only. The awning will then be leaning on the automatic lock on the top of the arm. Il would be a precaution to have someone hold the arm so it wont fall off the automatic lock while you are adjusting the bottom bracket. When the desired height is reached make a mark where bracket is to be installed. 1/4 x 2 1/2" LAG SCREW ARM #2 PATIO FOOT SHIM LOCKING WASHER B. Release the arm from the bracket and then lift the arm upward to make it easier to install the bracket on the unit. Fix your bracket where your marks are with the help of 1/4 x 2 1/2 lag screws and the locking washers included. See fig. No 5. Make sure your screws are in the middle of the sloths in case you need a slight adjustment. NOTE: If the bottom of the unit is straight and without moulding the shims included are recommended See fig. No. 5 Fig. 5 C. Reinstall the arm on the bracket and raise up the arm one hole with the lifting handle so that your automatic lock clips over the locker plate about 1/4".See fig No 4. NOTE: IF FOLLOWING THIS OPERATION THE ADJUSTMENT IS NOT 1/4" READJUST THE HEIGHT THE BOTTOM BRACKET TO HAVE A MORE SECURE LOCK. D. Use the same procedure for the other side.. 8 INSTALLATION OF THE STOPPER LOCK WASHER ARM #1 HANDLE STOP BOLT 1/4 x 3/8" In order to keep adjusted height on arm assembly insert stopper bolts 1/4 x 3/8 in the first hole below arm No 1. This will keep your arm adjusted at all time. See fig. No 6. CAP NUT 1/4" ARM #2 Fig. 6

9 SETTING THE AWNING A. Open and close the awning many times to make sure the awning is running smoothly. To do this push the locking handle in the "Unlock" position to open, and in the "Lock" position to close. You might have to slide the fabric a bit on either side or to readjust the position of the top brackets so that you may have a better function. B. With the awning working properly, leave the awning open by about 12" to fasten the fabric to the awning rail and proceed as follow: C. Mark the placement of the fabric on the awning rail with a pencil at both edges of the fabric. D. Drill a 3/32" hole through the awning rail at 2" from the fabric edge. Fig. 7 SCREW #6 x 3/8" E. Slide the fabric 1/4" over the mark you made and fasten it with the #6 x 1/2" included screw. CANOPY F. Fasten the other end of the fabric in the same manner making sure to stretch the fabric 1/4" over the pencil mark and fasten it with the #6 x 1/2" screw. AWNING RAIL Fig. 7
