TRAVEL IN BRISTOL As the UK s first cycling capital, Bristol has a myriad of cycle paths and places to hire bikes, as well as hidden streets and numerous parks and green spaces. The Bristol Ferry, from the landing stage at Castle Bridge, has 17 different stops along the Floating Harbour. These include Temple Meads Station, City Centre, Brunel s SS Great Britain and Hotwells. The Park & Ride, which stops right by Finzels Reach, offers a comfortable and easy way of travelling to Bristol. All Park & Ride services provide convenient access to the centre. The MetroBus, a rapid public transport system, is currently under construction. Designed to quickly transport large numbers of people around the area it uses segregated bus ways and bus lanes. The services between 94 strategically placed stops, including one just over Castle Bridge, are due to start in 2018. FURTHER AFIELD Bristol is one of the most easily accessible cities in the UK, with excellent road, rail, bus, coach and air links. Its large international airport is connected to 125 different countries. Regular bus services run to the airport from Temple Meads, which is a ten minute walk from Finzels Reach. Bristol Temple Meads is the largest rail hub in the west of England, with direct services available from London, Scotland, Wales, Manchester and Birmingham At the intersection of the M4 and M5 motorways, Bristol is also ideally placed for road users.
