DAY 1: USA / COSTA RICA Depart for San José s Juan Santamaria International Airport. Your local Forum Tour manager will greet you at the airport upon your arrival. Transfer to La Guácima de Alajuela, a small village 18 miles northwest of San José, capital of the country. In this authentic town, people speak only Spanish and the families preserve the real tico lifestyle and enjoy hosting foreigners. Dinner at the hotel with your group and Forum Tour manager. Overnight accommodations at El Rancho Lodge (or similar). DAY 2: POAS VOLCANO / LA PAZ WATERFALL / COOKING LESSONS This morning, visit the spectacular Poas Volcano National Park. Considered the largest active crater in the world. It is about 1.6 km wide and 320 meters deep, with frequent geyser-like eruptions. Have lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, take a tour of La Paz Waterfalls Be delighted at the five waterfalls that line the trail of the park and visit the Butterfly Observatory, Hummingbird Garden, Serpentarium, Frog Exhibit, Tica House, Trout Lake and the bird watching areas. Learn how to make some local recipes from a tico chef in a cooking class. Dinner at the hotel with your group. Overnight accommodations at El Rancho Lodge (or similar). DAY 3: BALDI Breakfast at the hotel. Today transfer to Arenal. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Then, experience the Baldi Hot Springs. These natural springs and geysers are a direct result of the volcanic activity of Mount Arenal. Visitors can relax and bathe in nine different pools while enjoying the striking views of the mountain and surrounding jungle Dinner at Baldi. Night accommodation. DAY 4: REFORESTATION / DANCING LESSONS After breakfast at your hotel, help put the environment by participating in a reforestation process by planting a tree! Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, head on a hike and learn about the natural and cultural history of the cacao tree. See with your very own eyes a Chocolate Production Process. Taste the different kinds of chocolates, prepared on the spot in their traditional and authentic way.
Dinner and overnight accommodations at El Rancho Lodge (or similar). Then, show off your fancy footwork and learn how to express yourself like a true tico by taking part in a dance class! DAY 5: SCHOOL VISIT / ZIPLINE / JACO Enjoy breakfast with your group at the hotel. After breakfast, have the opportunity to visit a local school; spend some time with local students in Costa Rican public school. Why not lace up your shoes and challenge your new friends to a futbol match? Next, participate in a Zip Line Tour, without a doubt a healthy release of adrenaline and an incredible immersion. This is an adventure that lets you roam through the treetops, leaping form platform to platform using a special system of steel cables and professional climbing gear. Then board your private bus and head to Jaco, on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. Enjoy dinner & overnight accommodation in Jaco. DAY 6: MANUEL ANTONIO NATIONAL PARK Enjoy breakfast with your group at the hotel. Head to Manuel Antonio National Park. Although it is Costa Rica s smallest national park, the breath-taking beauty and diversity of wildlife is unequalled. Your Forum Tour Manager will help you identify some of the exotic toucans and flocks of parakeets and parrots that can be found camouflaged in the dense forest. Enjoy a lunch box. This afternoon, have some fun-in-the-sun time on the expansive white sand beach of Manuel Antonio National Park Transfer to Alajuela in the afternoon. Enjoy dinner & overnight accommodation at the Rancho Lodge (or similar). DAY 7: RETURN HOME After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport by private motor coach.
