Doka Coffee Tour & La Paz Waterfall Garden After crossing Alajuela city and while ascending towards La Paz Waterfalls, the change in temperature and vegetation is noticeable; flower and strawberry farms along the way. San Luis Hanging Bridges The venue is located in a cloud forest ecosystem that is covered by clouds most of the year. Tortuguero National Park Leaving from San Jose early in the morning, this tour heads on to the Braulio Carrillo National Park, where we drive thru the beautiful cloud forest and rainforest. Just after this national park, we will stop for a Costa Rican typical breakfast. The road takes us alongside a banana plantation and the guide will provide an explanation about growing and exporting that fruit. Later, we leave the bus and board the boat for a trip into the jungle, thru the canals towards the world famous Tortuguero National Park. Covering 29.000 hectares, Tortuguero is one of the most important nesting sites for the sea green turtles. On the way to Irazu Volcano National Park and as you travel along the southern slope of the volcano towards the park, the potato, onion, and cabbage fields give way to dairy farms at higher elevations. The Irazu is one of the active volcanos in Costa Rica; though, currently, the only activity in the crater is from fumaroles releasing toxic steam. Wildlife is difficult to observe; however, some species such as coyotes, squirrels, armadillos, rabbits, foxes, owls, and other birds dwell in the barren area that surrounds the crater.
