BOKEN ILL (approx. population,) Originated in, shortly after Charles asp pegged out his first mining blocks on the lead-silver zinc lode. The town was proclaimed a city in 9 and today is a community which depends mainly on the mining industry, pastoralism and tourism. Broken ill is the centre of the West Darling astoral industry which constitutes a total area of approximately million hectares. Although the city is connected by rail to both Sydney and Adelaide, practically all of its commercial interests are with South Australia.
