SUMMA Condition Settings Tangential Knife Blade Adjustment When the knife depth is set correctly, test patterns will cut through the window film allowing the test cut to be removed from the backing. The blade should leave visible, slight scratches in the surface of the media backing (the film liner), but should never cut through it. Always keep in mind that if the blade force is set correctly (following the settings listed below for different film products), the operator may extend the blade slightly to ensure complete cutting through the film to the liner (see the User s Manual, pages 1-30). If the blade is cutting through the film in some areas but not others, do NOT adjust the blade force. Rather, increase the blade depth very slightly to ensure more uniform depth cutting across the film width. If problems persist, call Tech Support for assistance. Nose Piece Holders There are three different types of Nose Piece Holders: The Standard, Drag, and Sandblast. For best results, use only the Nose Piece Holder for the Drag and Tangential blade. The Standard and Sandblast Nose Piece Holders have bearings located at the base of the Nose Piece that can scratch the film while in use. TANGENTIAL PEN DRAG BLADE BLADE HOLDER HOLDER HOLDER
