LOS ANGELES Hooray for Hollywood! Explore the many elements that make up the sprawling and fascinating 467 square miles of the Los Angeles metropolitan area. In addition to being the hub of the motion picture industry and a mecca for popular culture, Los Angeles leads the world in the production of television programs, video games, and recorded music. Los Angeles is also an epicenter for high culture, as home to noted museums and galleries, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Master Chorale, and premier musical institutions including the Colburn School and the University of Southern California s Thornton School of Music. During your stay under the sunny California skies, revel in the opportunity to visit an impressive cross section of all that the City of Angels has to explore. Visit and perform at many of the landmarks that make up the iconic cityscape. Enjoy a concert tour of Los Angeles, and let yourself be immersed in all that the city has to offer as you share your music with local people. Los Angeles 2

TUESDAY, MARCH 13, 2018 MINNEAPOLIS ST. PAUL TO LOS ANGELES Depart Minneapolis St. Paul at 11:15am on Delta flight #1543 to Los Angeles. Known for its sunny climate and beautiful Pacific coastline, the City of Angels is most famous for being the hub of the world s entertainment industry. Arrive in Los Angeles at 1:20pm. Welcome to California! Upon arrival, your Music Contact International tour managers will greet you at the airport. Together, meet your waiting motor coaches and embark on a guided sightseeing tour of Los Angeles. Your local guides will show you the extravagant homes of both current and historic Hollywood stars and share trivia and anecdotes from Hollywood s history. See the legendary Sunset Strip, a stretch of Sunset Boulevard extending from West Hollywood to Beverly Hills. The Sunset Strip served as a playground for glamorous movie stars during the 1930s and 1940s and as a haven for up and coming musicians in the 1960s and 1970s. Today, it is known for its colorful billboards and for the numerous celebrities that inhabit the hills directly above it. Also see Rodeo Drive, a palm lined street famous for its luxury stores, and the Chateau Marmont, a landmark hotel known for its celebrity clientele. A snack or lunch stop at TASTE Food Hall, a collection of casual eateries located in downtown Los Angeles, can be incorporated into your tour. Many of the vendors are smaller versions of beloved local restaurants. Continue on to your hotel to check in, get settled, and refresh. Spend your first evening in California on the famed Venice Beach Boardwalk. Take a sunset stroll along this colorful promenade as you observe street performers and shop for souvenirs along the Pacific Ocean. A special welcome dinner is served at a local restaurant. WEDNESDAY, MARCH 14, 2018 LOS ANGELES CONCERT* Breakfast is served at the hotel. This morning, head to Santa Monica, a coastal city known for its magnificent bay, beautiful beaches, and lively shopping districts. 3

Enjoy a free morning to explore Santa Monica to your liking. Visit the Santa Monica Pier, a long pier that is over 100 years old. Offering stunning views of the Pacific coast, the bustling pier is home to Pacific Park, an amusement park whose giant, solar powered ferris wheel is a defining element of the Santa Monica skyline. Meander through the pier s many shops, restaurants, and arcade games, and watch as anglers fish into the water below. Walk along the picturesque Santa Monica Beach, and perhaps brave the water and dip your feet in the Pacific Ocean. Don t miss Third Street Promenade, a pedestrian-only street located only three blocks inland from Santa Monica Beach. Browse the promenade s shops, have lunch at leisure at one of its restaurants, and delight in its many street performers. This afternoon, enjoy a guided tour of Paramount Pictures Studios, Hollywood s first major movie studio. Get a behind-the-scenes look at a true, working studio, and learn how Paramount s legacy has had a profound influence on Hollywood and the film industry. This evening, the Brainerd High School Choir will perform a concert at a local church*. To complement your performance schedule, enjoy free time for dinner at The Grove, a lovely outdoor marketplace modeled after classic historic districts with Art Deco facades. THURSDAY, MARCH 15, 2018 LOS ANGELES FRIENDSHIP CONCERT* Following breakfast at the hotel, transfer to a local high school. Here, the Brainerd High School Choir will perform a friendship concert alongside an ensemble of local students*. Midday, there will be an opportunity for lunch at the Los Angeles Farmers Market, home to a wide variety of food vendors selling everything from smoothies to international cuisine.. Next, follow in the footsteps of your favorite stars along the Hollywood Walk of Fame, fifteen blocks embedded with terrazzo and brass stars bearing celebrity names. Snap photos at TCL Chinese Theatre, a pagoda-like structure lined with celebrity hand and foot prints; El Capitan Theatre, one of Disney s flagship houses that has hosted many live theater shows and Disney film premieres; and the Dolby Theatre, home to the Academy Awards. Enjoy dinner in chaperoned groups tonight at Grand Central Market, a vibrant, multicultural food hall established in 1917. Upon request, enhance your evening with tickets to a local theater performance such as Aladdin (supplemental pricing applies). 4

FRIDAY, MARCH 16, 2018 DISNEYLAND WORKSHOP* Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Depart for a fun-filled excursion to Disneyland. As participants in the Disney Performing Arts program, the Brainerd High School Choir will participate in a Soundtrack Session workshop led by a professional composer, arranger, conductor, or studio musician from the industry*. Experience the excitement of a working recording studio as you learn about sight-reading techniques, performance concepts, improvisational tools, and the process of laying down a musical track. Your workshop will end with a screening of your recorded work set to Disney film footage. After your workshop, the day is yours to explore Disneyland at your leisure. The park consists of eight themed lands: Main Street, U.S.A; Adventureland; New Orleans Square; Frontierland; Fantasyland; Mickey s Toontown; and Tomorrowland. You will have opportunities to purchase both lunch and dinner today on-site at Disneyland eateries. SATURDAY, MARCH 17, 2018 CATALINA ISLAND Breakfast is served at the hotel. Today, embark on an excursion to Catalina Island. Located about 22 miles southwest of Los Angeles and boasting a year round Mediterranean climate, Catalina is a peaceful oasis from the hustle and bustle of the city. Take a passenger ferry to the island and spend the day in chaperoned groups exploring and enjoying the scenic views. Return to Los Angeles this evening, where dinner is served to your ensemble at a local restaurant. 5

SUNDAY, MARCH 18, 2018 LOS ANGELES WORSHIP SERVICE* After breakfast in the hotel, transfer to a local church, where the Brainerd High School Choir will perform as part of this morning s worship service*. After the service, enjoy mingling with the appreciative congregation. Midday, transfer to Olvera Street, a world-renowned Mexican marketplace in downtown Los Angeles. Enjoy free time to have an authentic Mexican lunch and shop for souvenirs in stalls selling traditional Mexican wares such as artwork, crafts, leather goods, and candles. Your last afternoon in California is yours to explore all Los Angeles has to offer. Perhaps visit the Getty Center, an art museum set amongst the Santa Monica Mountains. Designed by renowed architect Richard Meier, the museum houses an impressive selection of art ranging from historic manuscripts to Renaissance paintings to 20 th century American photography. Or, head to Griffith Observatory later in the day to take in the sunset. Situated on the south face of Mount Hollywood, the observatory features a stunning Art Deco domed building and breathtaking views of Los Angeles and the Pacific Ocean. A festive farewell dinner is served this evening at a local restaurant. MONDAY, MARCH 19, 2018 LOS ANGELES TO MINNEAPOLIS ST. PAUL Have breakfast at the hotel before checking out and loading your motor coaches. Spend your last morning in California enjoying one of the coastal communities in the area such as Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, or Marina del Rey. There will be an opportunity to purchase lunch before heading to the airport this afternoon. Midday, transfer to the Los Angeles International Airport and check in for your return flight. Depart Los Angeles at 3:45pm on Delta flight #1438 to Minneapolis St. Paul. Arrive in Minneapolis St. Paul at 9:20pm. Welcome home! 6
