The road winds through forgotten sections of countryside, connecting picturesque villages to Austria s breathtaking lakes region. It culminates in Steyr, a beautiful 1000 year-old city of some 40,000 people. This city offers an impressive integration of an ultra modern industrial city (BMW and large vehicles) with a preservation of the historic parts of the town, specifically its collection of architecturally unique buildings in the main square. In the evening we enjoy a walking tour of Steyr with a local guide wearing a traditional medieval costume. The family-run, 4-star hotel is directly located on the historic main square in the center of Steyr. The beautifully renovated rooms offer views of the historic quarter. Today we ride most of the day along the Vltava river which flows into Prague and then we will discover the medieval town of Cesky Krumlov. The Castle and Chateau of Cesky Krumlov is the second largest castle complex in the country and was rebuilt based on the royal Windsor Castle. Its exterior courtyards and Italian-style gardens, as well as the rich interior rooms, are well worth visiting, not to mention the view from the castle area or the castle tower. The medieval town of Cesky Krumlov is one of the first places in the Czech Republic that was listed on the UNESCO World Heritage Site. This 5-star hotel is located in the Renaissance building of a former Jesuit monastery and university from 16th century. The building recently underwent through the extensive renovation of interiors while maintaining the beauty of Renaissance architecture. In the morning we ride to the beautiful town of Holašovice, a picturesque village from 13th century whose present appearance is considered a true pearl of the rustic Baroque style, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Holašovice is a typical Bohemian village which consists of different brick farmyards containing buildings, each with their gable end facing a central broad village green, with a fish pond and chapel. The buildings date from the 18th to 20th century, with most of them built in the second half of the 19th century. During the afternoon, we ll regroup and relax on a threehour shuttle ride to another UNESCO World Heritage site: the enchanting Prague. The Augustine represents the epitome of elegance in the historical city of Prague. INSURANCE, TERMS & CONDITIONS Insurance Ciclismo Classico will not assume responsibility or liability for any loss or damage of personal effects or for any injury or loss during the duration of the tour. Therefore, we highly recommend that you obtain travel insurance. Information on travel insurance will be sent to you via email once trip deposit is received. We recommend MH Ross, but travelers may choose the insurance carrier of their choice. Cancellations and Refunds All requests for refunds must be submitted in writing as soon as possible to Ciclismo Classico. Exceptions to their cancellation policy cannot be made for any reason, including weather or personal emergencies. There is no refund for unexpectedly leaving a trip early or arriving late. The purchase of short-term travel insurance policy is strongly recommended. Cancellation fees are determined as follows: Days before departure Cancellation fee 121+ days - 50% of the deposit* 91-120 days - 100% of the deposit* 61-90 days - 30% of the trip price 31-60 days - 60% of the trip price 0-30 days - 100% of the trip price *You may transfer your trip deposit to another departure in the same tour season up to 90 days before your original departure with payment of a $100 per person transfer fee.
