Mayo WRF FM Project Background Project needed to: Increase treatment capacity in Mayo sewer service area Upgrade treatment to meet new State standards (Enhanced Nutrient Removal) Selected Alternative Decommission the Mayo WRF and convert it to a regional pumping station Install a force main that will pump all septic tank effluent flow collected from Mayo to the Annapolis WRF for ENR treatment and disposal The treated effluent will be discharged through the Annapolis WRF outfall to the mouth of the Severn River
Mayo WRF FM Background Information Six Construction Contracts: Loch Haven FM - six months duration South River FM - six months duration Quiet Waters Park FM - six months duration Hillsmere FM - six months duration Edgewood FM - six months duration Mayo WRF PS and Annapolis WRF Improvements - 10 months duration All work must be complete by December 31, 2016 to meet MDE deadline for ENR treatment of Mayo flow

Progress to Date Under Construction: South River FM Notice to Proceed (NTP): October 9, 2015 Quiet Waters Park FM NTP: January 4, 2016 Loch Haven FM NTP: February 12, 2016 Mayo and Annapolis WRF Improvements NTP: March 11, 2016 Starting in August: Edgewood FM Hillsmere FM
South River Contract Contractor is Carson Corporation Consists of three segments Loch Haven Drive Drill 1,750 feet (Magnolia Dr. to Bay View Point Dr.) South River Drill - 4,100 feet long Quiet Waters Park Open Cut - 450 feet of trenched construction South River Drill completed December 15, 2015 Loch Haven Drill completed May 10, 2016 Vault installation and site restoration to be complete early June 2016.
Loch Haven Contract Contractor is Schummer Loch Haven contract consists of two drills: Mayo WRF to Plainview Plainview to Magnolia Pipe assembled on shoulder of Plainview Ave. and Loch Haven Drive, and in South River Farms Park Mayo WRF to Plainview HDD completed May 12, 2016 Plainview to Magnolia HDD will begin March 23 and will take 3 weeks Sound barriers placed around drill on Plainview Vault installation and site restoration complete by end of June.
Glebe Heights PS & FM Project Background Glebe Heights Communal Facility Septic tank effluent is injected into drainage fields Soil treats wastewater New groundwater standards Project is needed to: Increase treatment capacity in Glebe Heights sewer service area to lift moratorium Meet new groundwater standards Project Elements: Upgrade the Glebe Heights I Pumping Station for future flows, install new Force Main, and pump flow to the Mayo Regional PS for transfer to Annapolis Decommission the Glebe Heights Communal Facility and transfer property to County Recreation and Parks
