greet you at the International airport (SJO) and take you to a wonderful little hotel just 15 minutes away. Relax and unwind from your travels by the pool, and enjoy the lovely flowering gardens, and tropical bird sounds. Day 2 This morning we have arranged for your transfer to La Fortuna, better known for its world famous Arenal Volcano. Positioned within Costa Rica s fertile northern lowlands, the Arenal Volcano is an unavoidable presence while traveling within this part of the country. It is tall and imposing and has a reputation that precedes itself. Arenal s perfectly symmetrical shape makes it a sightseer s dream, while its abundance of outdoor activities makes it an easy place to check things off your must-do in Costa Rica list. Upon arrival you will be checking in at one of the area's best hotels with excellent volcano views. This afternoon, start your adventures with Canyoning: a relatively new sport that s becoming very popular the world over! Here, near the Arenal Volcano, our rugged, mountainous terrain is ideal for incredible canyoneering options and huge, breathtaking waterfalls! This is a unique, multi-sport adventure that combines rappelling, down-climbing and river tracing in a deep, tropical canyon. Prepare to get wet! America (or similar) Conveniently located near the airport, this hotel is the perfect base from which to start this expedition. Expect to fall asleep to the sound of crickets, and awake to the exotic bird songs. No meals included today Silencio del Campo (or similar) The homely, yet tasteful villages have been designed to make comfort and simplicity bring you full enjoyment of peace and nature. Rooms are fully equipped, featuring air conditioning, coffee maker, cable television, a small refrigerator and a safe box. The best of all is that every single room is enclosed within gardens and provided with an unblocked view to the giant, Arenal Volcano. Oh yes, did we mention this place has its own soothing in-house hot springs pools? True! You ll love this place as much as we do Breakfast & Lunch Imagine yourself in the midst of thick rainforest at the top of a magical canyon full of tropical waterfalls with surprises each step of the way. Your guides will start off with a thorough safety talk to explain important rappelling and down-climbing techniques. You will be provided high-quality technical climbing gear such as a harness, helmet, gloves and you will get to practice your first descent on a mini 15-ft waterfall, just to get the hang of things. Take a deep breath! And there you are, on a sturdy, government-approved platform looking down into the depths of a 150-ft massive waterfall. You ll rappel down for the thrill of a lifetime! Make your way along the river bed by down-climbing and rappelling a series of about six waterfalls that get gradually bigger and BIGGER! Delicious Costa Rican style lunch is served afterwards. Day 3 ATV ATV ATV!! This afternoon enjoy the best adventure tour in this area driving your own quad or four wheeler, riding through plantations of bananas, papaya, yucca, avocado and more. Ride on dirt roads Same as above 2

and across creeks and reach a lookout point to see the spectacular 65m (200 ft) La Fortuna waterfall. Then drive to a swimming hole where you can enjoy swimming in one of the most beautiful waterfalls (another one) this region has to offer. Afterwards we ll treat you to lunch at a typical Costa Rican eatery. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner All ATV tours begin with an overview of your Honda 250 CC 4 x 4 four-wheeler, as well as a brief practice session to acquaint yourself with its handling. In the afternoon hike through lush rainforest with a naturalist guide close to the base of the Arenal Volcano where we wait for sunset at the observation point. Later, take a relaxing dip in natural hot springs and enjoy the area's specialty tropical drinks at the swim-up bar. Dinner s served on location! You will be back at your hotel at about 10 Pm for a well-deserved night s rest. Day 4 This morning after breakfast we have arranged your transfer to Manuel Antonio. Manuel Antonio is on the Pacific Coast and boasts some of the most stunning coastline in the country. It features a multitude of boutique hotels, restaurants and some of the most beautiful ocean views. Manuel Antonio also features country s most visited national park. There you will check in at one of the area's best and most scenic hotels. In the evening enjoy the Canopy Zip lines adventure. Sail high above the rainforest canopy and experience Manuel Antonio s most popular exhilarating adventure sport actually invented in Costa Rica: Canopy zip lining at night! Day 5 Experience one of Costa Rica s most striking coastlines and National Park by open-seat ocean kayak. This adventure begins near the developing Pez Vela (Sail Fish) Marina in Quepos and winds along the Manuel Antonio coastline. Indulge yourselves at a rare jewel of a beach a hidden Manuel Antonio treasure at Biezans Bay for a refreshing swim and delicious local snacks. Feel free to ask your bilingual naturalist guide to show you to the best snorkeling spots as you experience three small but growing, active, and astounding coral reef systems nestled very close to the shore of Biezans Bay. Or just relax and enjoy the tranquility of a private white sand beach. Costa Verde Hotel (or similar) With magnificent views of the Pacific coastline, and the World famous Manuel Antonio National Park, Costa Verde Hotel features 3 cliff-side pools with sundecks, on-site Spa services, beautiful gardens and four restaurants. Your apartment is equipped with ceiling fans, air-conditioning, cable tv, WI-FI, safe deposit box, a kitchenette, rocking chairs, and a large balcony. This really is the place to enjoy the amazing sunset views from one of its many pools and terraces. Breakfast Same as above Lunch After an unforgettable experience at Biezans, continue kayaking 3

towards Manuel Antonio National Park and wonder at the nearby nesting islands where exotic boobies and frigates call home year round. Finally end your adventure with a typical Costa Rican dish near the beach at a local Manuel Antonio hot spot before you return to your Costa Rican residence. R&R in the afternoon! Day 6 For the early birds we recommend you visit Manuel Antonio National Park (activity not included, you can easily visit the nearby park independently or hire a guide at the park entrance, $10/person entrance fee, hours are 7 am - 3 pm, closed Mondays). Please let us know if you like us to include a guided hiking tour with round trip transfer: The most visited National Park in Costa Rica has three beautiful white sand beaches, trees such as black locust (an endangered timber-yielding tree), Balsa trees, Monkey Comb, Bastard Cedar, wild Plantain, Manhandle (a tree that oozes a milky substance and bears poison fruit) and Mayflower. There are more than one hundred mammal species and one hundred and eighty species of birds here, including the rare White Ibis. Squirrel monkeys (another endangered species) play on the trees above the trails of the park. Here, too, you can spot Two-toed Sloths, Raccoons, White-nosed Coatis, Howler Monkeys, White-faced Monkeys, and Squirrels. Late this morning (by hotel check out time) we have arranged your transfer back to the Central Valley. Your hotel in downtown San José is perfectly located for you to wander around the city in search for a nice restaurant. We recommend you take it easy for tomorrow will be an action packed and long day. You ll need your energy to paddle down some of the world s best 29 Km (18 miles) of class III & IV whitewater. Day 7 This package isn t called Extreme Adrenaline Vacation in Costa Rica for no reason: experience the thrill of white water rafting on the world renowned Pacuare River! The scenery while rafting is just marvelous; the vegetation that will surround you plus the power of the waters will transport you into a great wild adrenaline pumping adventure. The equipment will be given, and a specialized guide will instruct you on how to manage yourself into the strong currents of the river. Don Carlos Hotel (or similar) Located in the historical section of San Jose, this four star hotel is a small but significant part of Costa Rica s rich heritage. Its comfortable and spacious ensuite rooms are well decorated and feature king size or double beds, executive desk, cable TV, safe deposit box, and wireless internet connection. Getting to San Jose From the United States, these are some of the carriers offering services to Costa Rica: American, Delta, JetBlue, Spirit, United Airlines, US Airways, Copa, Aeromexico, TACA and Air Canada. Let us know if you d like assistance with arranging your international flight logistics. After Your Trip On the final day of your trip, you will be transferred to the international airport of SJO to arrive there 3 hours before your outbound flight departure time. Travelers who wish to continue their journey in Costa Rica can have their transfer to their next destination arranged by Mr. Tico for an additional cost. Pre- and Post-Trip Accommodations This trip includes hotel and lodge accommodation for each of the six nights. If you plan to arrive early or stay late, please contact our office if you would like assistance in booking pre- or post-trip accommodation at one of our hotels or lodges. We recommend you make reservations well in advance in order to guarantee lodging. TERMS & CONDITIONS Reservations and Deposits A $500/person deposit is required at the time of reservation. The balance is due 60 days prior to trip start date. Cancellations and Refunds If you find it necessary to cancel your trip, please notify us as soon as possible. The cancellation fee after you ve made your deposit can range up to the entire trip cost, based upon the number of days prior to your trip that we receive your cancellation notice. We also strongly recommend that you protect yourself, your belongings, and your vacation through the purchase of a travel insurance plan. A travel insurance plan covers your non-refundable payments in most cases, should you have to cancel your trip due to illness or injury yours or that of an extended family member even at the last minute. Check that the plan you choose includes the required emergency medical evacuation coverage mentioned above. Evacuations can be prolonged, difficult, and expensive. Liability Release Everyone is required to sign a standard liability release form before the trip, acknowledging awareness that there are inherent risks associated with the trip. Due to the nature of the activities, a condition of your participation is that you will sign this form and return it to our office before the trip begins.
