ONGOING SUB-PROJECTS LISTING 1. Suva Arterial Roads Upgrading Project Phase 1- FRA TIISP 16-01 This project is the rehabilitation of the existing road pavements on 8 sections of 6 roads within the Greater Suva Area. The scope includes improvement of existing drainage, pavement construction and design, asphalt surfacing, footpath construction/repairs, service cover level adjustments and finally road marking and signage. This is the first phase of rehabilitation works that is to be carried out in the GSA. These 6 roads that will undergo rehabilitation works under this project are Queens Road, Edinburgh Drive, Ratu Mara Road (A), Kings Road (A), Kings Road (B), Kings Road (E), McArthur Road and Gaji Road. 2. Guardrail Improvement Works - FRA TIISP 16-19 This project is for the Guardrail Improvement Works that is to be carried out at a total of ten(10) sites in Viti Levu & Vanua Levu. There are five(5) sites located along the Queens Road, three(3) of which are located at Navutulevu East and two(2) at Sovi Bay. The five(5) sites located in Vanua Levu will be along the Transinsular Road that links Labasa to Savusavu. Site Photographs Guardrail Improvement Work sites located along the Queens Road, Viti Levu.
3. Matewale Irish Crossing - FRA TIISP 15-63 This project is for the construction of an Irish Crossing approximately 30m in length at Matewale, 57.6km from Sigatoka Town, which traverses Tuwalu Creek, a tributary of the Sigatoka River. The project also includes the reconstruction of the road approaches, rock armor and the re-grading of the watercourse. This project was commissioned in June 2016. Construction of this project has been temporarily put on hold as an alternative crossing design is being considered. Site Photographs Existing condition of the Matewale Irish Crossing. 4. Village Street Lighting Works (West) - FRA TIISP 15-84 This project is for the installation of new streetlights through various villages within the Western Division. There are a total of 29 sites. There are 27 sites located along the Queens Road from Nasama Village to Natabua Road Junction and 2 sites located along the Kings Road from Matawalu Village to Nailaga Village. 2. Viti-Levu Crossing Replacement Project - FRA TIISP 16-14 This Project is for the replacement of the following three (3) crossings namely; Rabaraba, Solovi I and Solovi II. 4. Suva Arterial Roads Upgrading Project Phase 2- FRA TIISP 16-29 This Project is for the upgrading of eighteen (18) roads around Suva to Nausori Corridor. The total length of roads that will be upgraded is approximately 18km. The project also includes the rehabilitation of existing road surface, footpath, roundabouts, lane markings and guardrail construction. Seal and Reseal Project (Central, West, North) - FRA TIISP 16-03 This Project is for the upgrading of sealed roads in the central, western and northern division. The total length of roads that will be upgraded is approximately 130,000m and a total of 166 sites altogether. Total area of 1,013,202 sqm.
