For Immediate Release September 24, 2014 JATA Tourism EXPO Japan Promotion Office Exhibitions by 970 companies from 47 prefectures throughout Japan and over 150 countries and regions worldwide The Power of Travel Tokyo, Japan (September 24, 2014) The Japan Travel and Tourism Association (JTTA) and the Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA) are collaborating to hold the 1st JATA Tourism EXPO Japan 2014. The event is an integration of Tabi Fair Japan, a domestic tourism exhibition hosted by JTTA, and JATA TABIHAKU Travel Showcase, an international travel exhibition hosted by JATA. Taking place at Tokyo Big Sight from Thursday, September 25 through Sunday, September 28, it will make use of the strengths of each organization s established exhibition to create one of the biggest events of its kind in the world. With its theme of The Power of Travel, the event will consist of four sections the Travel Showcase exhibition, taking up all 6 East Exhibition Halls in the venue, an International Tourism Forum, for industry experts to discuss the latest travel trends, a Business Meeting part, where suppliers and travel companies from Japan and overseas can meet together, and an Awards Ceremony to recognize all excellent of companies, organizations, individuals and products in the industry. 1st JATA Tourism EXPO Japan 2014 Opening Ceremony Date: Friday, September 26, 2014, 9:30-10:30 (reception time: 8:30-8:50) Venue: Tokyo Big Sight 7 th floor, International Conference Room To commemorate the start of the event, the opening ceremony will be held on Friday, September. 26, 2014, at the 7 th -floor International Conference Room of the Conference Tower in Tokyo Big Sight. Instructions for Press Members Time that Prince Akishino is available for press contact: - Between the time of venue entrance (9:30) until the end of the opening ceremony (about 10:00) *Contact with press members will not be possible at the time of the Prince s arrival. <Application for registration> - We kindly ask that you fill out the necessary information on the attached application form for registration, and make an application no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24. - As prior registration is required for security purposes, press accreditation will not be available at the venue on the day of the event. - Requests for additions or changes for press members covering the event will not be honored on the day of the event. - Contracted journalists and photographers/camera crew are requested to make prior registration through the point person of your contracting media branch. <Reception> - Reception time will be between 8:30 and 8:50. Please make sure to finish reception procedures by the scheduled completion time. - Please show your business card or ID upon arrival. Press members without a press pass or armband will not be given access to the event. - Exit from the venue is not possible once the opening ceremony has begun.
