8 Day Iceland Inspired Your Itinerary Day 1 Meet your motor-coach transfer and head to Boston Logan International Airport for your flight to Iceland with your Tours of Distinction Tour Director. Day 2 Arrie in Reyjakik and head towards the famous Blue Lagoon. The lagoon is a geothermal wonder of nature, with pleasantly warm mineral rich geothermal seawater in the middle of a laa field. The high natural leels of silica, minerals and algae gie the Lagoon its rich blue colour hence the name Blue Lagoon. Later, a city tour will show us the highlights of the capital. Welcome dinner and oernight at your Reykjaík hotel. Day 3 After breakfast, we drie north out of Reykjaik and through the tunnel under Halfjordur, one of the country s longest fjords. We make a isit at the Settlement Center museum in Borgarnes. We continue through the pretty lake-dotted alleys of the Borgarfjördur district where the ice-age glacier coered the area about 10,000 years ago. We will then make a brief stop at Deidartunguher, Europe s largest hot spring, where around 200 liters of 97C hot water flows from the earth eery second. Enjoy our short stop at the beautiful waterfalls of Hraunfossar and Barnafossar in the rier Hítá before returning to Borgarnes. Dinner and oernight in Borgarnes. Day 4 The first highlight of the day is Thingellir, the great laa arena in a rift alley, where the diide between the Eurasian and the North American tectonic plates is clearly isible. Founded by the Norse settlers in 930 AD in Thingellir, you will see the world s oldest stillexisting national parliament. Get ready to isit Gullfoss, which is often described as Iceland s most beautiful waterfall, and the famous Geysir area. Strokkur, the world s most actie, is likely to spout seeral times. We make our final stop at Friðheimar, known for using geothermal heating for cultiation of tomatoes and cucumbers come and enjoy their famous tomato soup. Dinner and oernight in Selfoss.

Day 5 Today we will drie along the south coast and make a stop at the magnificent Seljalandsfoss Waterfalls!. It is a narrow but high waterfall, plunging oer the mountainside of West Eyjafjöll. A path lies at the bottom of the cliff where it cascades down, offering a safe and easy opportunity to walk behind the waterfall and out the other side. From there we head to Vík, a illage east of Mt. Reynisfjall in Myrdal. It s the southernmost illage in Iceland. Mt. Reynisfjall and its cliffs hae few rials in Iceland for richness of egetation and bird life including the Arctic tern. We continue towards Kirkjubæjarklaustur, which in the old days was known as Kirkjubær (Church Farm) and was an important farming illage. Dinner and oernight in Kirkjubæjarklaustur. Day 6 From Klaustur the route takes us along the south coast to Skaftafell. Skaftafell was designated one of Iceland s three national parks in 1967. The most majestic of its seeral waterfalls is Sartifoss ( Black Falls ), plunging oer a wall of symmetrical columnar basalt that recalls organ pipes. If there s interest, we can walk up to Sartifoss. Before we drie to the hotel, we stop by the glacier lagoon Jökulsárlón and isit the museum, Þórbergssetur, in Höfn. The museum is dedicated to one of Iceland s most significant twentieth century authors, Þórbergur Þórðarson. Dinner and oernight at FH Glacier Lagoon. Day 7 Today we will drie along the south coast and make a stop at the breathtaking Skógarfoss waterfall which is 60m high and one of the most impressie waterfalls in the country. A short drie from Skógar there is a small illage Þoraldseyri, home to Eyjafjallajökull Visitor Centre, where we stop for an exhibition about the famous Eyjafjallajökull eruption, which caused quite a stir and affected air traffic around the world. Let s continue to the power plant, Hellisheiðarirkjun, for a Geothermal Exhibition about the utilization of geothermal energy in Iceland. Oernight at your Reykjaik hotel. Day 8 Breakfast at your hotel. Transfer to the Reykjaik Airport for check-in and departure home.
