This DIY will allow you to put a modern twist to a timeless decorative piece. This DIY takes about 30 minutes but it s sure to attract admirers. hot glue gun and putting it on the knots then after applying it to the garland you picked out. Friendly Reminder: This is in-fact a DIY project. DYI stands for Do It Yourself so don t forget to add your own unique style. Take these instructions for inspiration. Happy Holidays. 1: You need to have some twine and gather small shells and starfish (or whatever shells you have or want to design with). 2: Various methods may be applied to this task. I would strongly recommend using a small screwdriver and a mallet of your choice (preferably rubber) and making a small hole where you would like to string your shells and starfish. 3: Take your twine and thread it through the holes of your shells in the pattern you decide, but after remember to knot each shell and space them just how you d like. 4: This step is all about preference. You may choose whichever garland you d prefer but just tangle them together however you d choose maybe like Christmas tree lights or just right across the front. Just secure the shells by using a

This DIY project is fun and safe for children and adults of all ages. With some inexpensive supplies and just a few minutes you can customize the tree with your very own ornaments. 1. Cut one cork in half (hamburger style) 2. Split both halves down the middle (hotdog style) these will be the feet 3. Now, take a full cork and cut ¼ of an inch off of the end and move the large piece aside for your next reindeer 4. Attach the feet to the long side of a full cork using hot glue 5. Next, attach the smallest piece as a collar on top 6. Then, add the last full cork long ways onto the collar for the head. Your reindeer s body is now complete 7. Cut the pipe cleaners to the size of your linking and create antlers and a tail 8. Lastly, screw the mini eye pin into the top of the reindeer and attach the ornament hook Optional 4 wine corks Hot glue gun (and hot glue sticks) Pipe cleaners Mini screw eye pin Ornament hook Googley eyes (optional) Ribbon (optional) Paint (optional) To customize your reindeer you can add googly eyes, tie ribbon around its neck like a collar, or paint it to add character

The Aftermath Holiday Edition Page 3 O R L A N D O H O L I D A Y E V E N T S BY A V A B U R I C With the holidays right around the corner, many families and groups scramble around to find something to do to celebrate. Do you need a place that has a Santa meet and greet? Do you need some sort of snow? Do you need a special dining experience related to the upcoming holidays? Most of us here in Florida have the benefit of multiple attractions surrounding us and it s easy to find a Christmas-themed event to attend. Theme parks in Central Florida are the biggest and best locations for Christmas events. The most popular and well-known theme park celebration is Disney s Very Merry Christmas Party. For a certain price, you can visit Magic Kingdom with lowered wait times, exclusive parades and shows, and unlimited hot chocolate and cookies for free. The Disney World Resort also offers holiday events at their other parks. Epcot s celebration is Holidays Around The World where each country represented has their own Santa or holiday icon. These characters perform a small show explaining the traditions for each countries festivities. Hollywood Studios annual event, The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights, is something you shouldn t miss. 2015 marks the last year of the dancing lights as the whole area will be replaced with a new Star Wars-inspired land. The Universal Orlando Resort is bringing back their holiday traditions at both parks including Universal Studios holiday parade. This show uses actual balloons from the Macy s Thanksgiving parade in their giant New York environment. Mannheim Steamroller will also perform on certain nights. The Islands of Adventure park is also setting up their Grinchmas celebration that revolves around the How The Grinch Stole Christmas film. An elaborate yet entertaining stage show, roaming characters, and a memorable meet and greet with the Grinch himself will be present during the month of December. SeaWorld s Christmas celebration is also returning with its animal themed shows and rides. Shows including Shamu, Sesame Street, and ice skaters will perform daily as the Polar Express attraction, which replaces the Wild Artic ride every Christmas, will welcome riders all day. There are also many other events in non-theme park locations. The Gaylord Palms Hotel is the king of Christmas festivities with their large amount of attractions. The most notable is ICE! where dozens of colored ice sculptures are on display in rooms with freezing temperatures. This year s theme is T was The Night Before Christmas and now includes an ice slide and an Alpine snow tubing center. Santa appearances and a Christmas-themed breakfast are also involved as the hotel s main hub is decorated with thousands of lights. Light Up UCF is another popular seasonal celebration. This event is located in front of the CFE Arena at the University of Central Florida and includes dozens of carnival rides, ice skating, light shows, and film festivals. The I-Drive 360 area, which recently opened with the Orlando Eye and other attractions, is also adding new things for the holidays. The Orlando Eye is including Christmas-themed capsules on their giant ferris wheel with decorations resembling things such as a gingerbread house, candy canes, winter forests, and other settings. A package can also be purchased to have Santa ride with you in your capsule while telling a story. An ice skating rink will also be present at I-Drive 360 s new Frostival. Whenever you need a holiday event to go to, you re definitely in luck. It s hard to ignore all of the seasonal celebrations happening in Orlando!

Make sure to completely cover the frosting leaving no trace of it. 3. Take pretzel stick and press it against one of the flat side to create the handle for the dreidel. 4. Apply frosting to the Hershey kiss so it will stick to the flat side of the marshmallow. This will be the spinner part of the dreidel. 5. You may dread your relatives coming to stay for the week and associate it as an annoyance, but just stop and think about how far they came to see you and how they've gone out of their way to spend time with you around the holidays. Whatever it is you re celebrating around this time of year, you tend to find yourself being more upbeat and kind to those around you. We feel the true meaning of this holiday season is to appreciate all the things you have and show kindness towards others, no matter if they're close or just mere strangers. Even just a smile could brighten someone s day, you don t know how their day has been but that act of kindness could turn it around. Another great thing around this time of year is giving back to your community and helping those in need. The holidays are not time for greed; helping give back could change a life and even other lives.

No problem! Here s a step by step guide to a cheap holiday classic: Instructions 1. Put the hangers into three groups of two and tie one of the corners together in each group with twist ties or yarn. Arrange the pairs of hangers with the hooks in the middle, and tie together. You should have a tripod at this point, with the hooks hanging down in the middle. 2. Spread out the pairs of hangers so all six fan out. It should look like the frame of a tree, with the hooks sticking out at the bottom. Secure each hook to the wire hanger next to it to make your tree more stable. 3. Let the plug for the lights dangle down the middle of the tree so the first light after the plug is at the top of the tree. Fasten the plug to the bottom of the tree (leave it as long as you like) with a twist tie. 4. Wrap the lights around each hanger. Use a longer strand if you want the lights to be closer together. Secure the lights with twist ties or yarn occasionally. Twist ties/yarn/string Strand of Christmas lights 2 or 3 Christmas Garlands small ornaments 6 wire coat hangers 5. Wrap the garland around the tree, starting at the top. Secure it at the top and let a bit of it dangle down the middle of the tree. Try not to leave any gaps. Poke through any lights that aren't showing through the garland. 6. Hang small ornaments of your choice.
