2011 a recap on last years event: The 2011 Ranch SkyDiving Boogie and Symposium received 88 registrations from 21 different Sports Skydiving Operations and Military Parachuting Units from across Southern Africa. 2 Atlas Angels flew 90 loads to 12 000ft. 78 members of the public were taken on a tandem introductory skydive, and Miss Limpopo was trained to skydive solo. The SANDF saw the event as an ideal opportunity to enhance cooperation whilst learning and sharing ideas by participating at events outside of the military and, promoting military interest in sport skydiving, held a mini accuracy meet with military and civilian entrants as part of the event. On top of that we all had an awesome friendly, relaxed, jump in the pool, walk with the lions, sing around the camp fire, no politics social skydiving gathering at the luxurious Ranch Resort. The 2011 event also enjoyed massive media exposure and was featured on local and national television (SABC 1, 2 and 3, News, Sport, Morning Live and Weekend Live), on local and national radio (Capricorn FM and Jacaranda FM), and in both online media (MyPolokwane, This Tourism Week), in newspapers (Polokwane Observer, Capricorn Voice, Northern Review, Daily Star, Platinum Weekly), and in magazines (African Pilot). Exhibits and displays. The SSA committees have been officially invited to participate in the event, and are encouraged to provide coaching and load organising for each skydiving discipline. SANDF, SAAF and SAPS Skydiving and Parachuting units have been officially invited to participate in, and display at the event. Discounts will be extended to individuals and teams for bulk jump ticket purchases. The Ranch SkyDiving Boogie and Symposium will be also one of the drop zones for the African Conservation Trust's national Skydive for Rhinos Campaign, which aims to complete 448 tandem skydives (one for each Rhino poached in South Africa last year) across 5 drop zones between July and September of this year. Landing Areas: Seniors Grass area at the South West end of the runway. Juniors - 500 meter diameter former irrigation grass circle within The Ranch Conservancy between the runway and tented camp. Elevation 4 400ft. Packing Areas: Shaded grass areas in the gardens around the main swimming pool area. Notice Board: Please look at it daily for updates and information. Tandem Masters / Camera Flyers: There will be a core working team, supplemented by approved individuals. All professional skydivers at the event to be pre-approved by Chief Instructor Graham Field. All professional skydivers will be expected to perform at least one PR jump (slots and equipment covered) in the name of promoting skydiving and parachuting. Skydivers that wish to apply to be part of the working team should please provide the following information: Name PASA Nr. Ratings Held Equipment Available Services Offered Medical: A medic tent with 2 x ILS paramedic ground staff will be on standby at the event. At least one EMS vehicle will be onsite. Advanced medical facilities are available in Polokwane. All participants are advised to have their own medical insurance. Payment: Jump tickets need to be paid for in advance, and will be issued at the event. Payments can be made: In advance by internet transfer. At the event by internet transfer. At the event in cash - nearest cash machine is at The Ranch Petrol Station on the N1. Credit and Debit Card Facilities at The Ranch Resort are available (charges between 5% and 7% will apply).

Facilities: Facilities include: a 12 hole par 3 Executive Golf Course; 4 swimming pools (2 heated); gymnasium and wellness centre with steam rooms. For the kids there is a play room with computer games, pinball machines, pool table, table tennis, bowls, a tennis court, a playground, a trampoline and a jungle gym activities include horseback safaris, lion walks, lion tours, game drives and more. Use of facilities is included in event registration, activities need to be arranged through The Ranch Resort and will be provided at a discounted rate for event registrants. Symposium and Exhibit Display Areas: Educational, inspirational, interesting and relevant presentations will occur at appropriate times for boogie registrants that wish to attend. Appropriate venues and exhibit display areas will be provided for approved displays / exhibits. If you wish to propose a talk, demonstration or presentation, or have a product, business you would like to display, please let the organizers know well in advance to check that it can be included, and that we can plan effectively. The opportunity to have a display area and to provide a display has been offered to SANDF, SAAF and SAPS Skydiving Units at no charge. Commercial operators may be charged a nominal fee to exhibit / display depending on level of support / sponsorship. Certain areas and presentations will be open to the public. To Wrap Up: Whilst the weather will be super awesome during the day it will be cold around the fires in the evening, so bring some warm clothing. There are 4 swimming pools, 2 of them heated, so bring your swimming kit as well. You can expect to be woken by lions in the morning and will hear the beautiful sound of 2 Turbine Atlas Angels all day. Come ready to do lots of skydiving, but also bring your golf clubs if you have a set!
