GVK CSIA celebrates International Housekeepers Week The housekeeping teams at GVK CSIA celebrated the International Housekeepers Week with a lot of fervor. The celebrations witnessed teams participating in a range of fun-filled activities like tug of war, drawing and poster competition, fun games, ramp walk with tools and equipment, dance performances and much more. The award recognizes women achievers for their exceptional contribution at work. Indian Women Convention which is held every year focuses on the Challenges for Women Achievers from an Indian perspective. The platform encourages women heads, women consultants and women professionals from across industries to come together for learning and networking. ACCELERATE workshop at MIAL GVK AIRPORTS MIAL L&D cell conducted a one and a half day day engagement workshop-accelerate for the mid-level employees. The training program was aimed at achieving peak performance as an individual and as a team. Some of the key learning objectives were taking and living ownership, triggering willingness to explore better ways of working, working better in a team set up, aligning them to organizational beliefs and values. The employees will also be given cross functional projects to take the learnings further. The L&D cell has successfully conducted three batches covering 106 employees. Employees participating in the workshop MIAL trainees participate in Cross Functional Focused Group Projects The Management Trainees at MIAL who are currently working in different verticals were assigned Cross Functional Focused Group Projects. The assignment was aimed towards engaging young minds with different functional expertise, to work towards a common goal. Each team was assigned six focus areas: improve baggage delivery, streamline taxi operations, identify key experience points of passengers and improve passenger flow; improve On Time Performance (OTP), improve passenger flow at immigration and increase CUSS usage. All the teams presented their findings to the CEO and the leadership team on 3 September, 2016. The presentations were assessed by a four member jury and the presentation on Improving the Baggage Delivery was adjudged the Best Presentation based on content and quality. GVK AIRPORTS GVK KIAB celebrates Dasara Festival GVK KIAB along with the Kannada and Culture Department, celebrated the Dasara Festival at the airport. The festival depicted South Indian art through daily performances that catered to the likes of dance enthusiasts and admirers of folk music. BIAL also reached out to the underprivileged community by hosting children from NGOs during the festival. On this occasion, Mr G V Sanjay Reddy, Managing Director, BIAL said, The airport aims at creating memories of the region in a new and refreshing way that has a lasting impression. This is the second edition of the Dasara festival at the airport. GVK BIO Carrom Championship at GVK BIO The 2016 Season of GVK BIO Carrom Championship (GCC) witnessed a huge participation of over 100 employees from across the organization. The tournament was played in knockout rounds across three weeks. Mr Sravan Reddy and Mr Saikumar from the SCM team emerged the winners. Mr Raj Kumar Saha and Mr Kamlesh, Chemistry Services held the 1 st runners-up position while Mr Vishnumurthy and Mr Venkateswarulu, Chemistry Services held the 2 nd runners-up position. GVK EMRI GVK EMRI-Tamil Nadu launches animal ambulance GVK EMRI-Tamil Nadu in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Science University (TANUVAS) launched the animal ambulance service as a pilot project with ten ambulances on 25 September, 2016. These ambulances will cater to critical and emergency cases, such as accidents, trauma, gynaecological complications and metabolism disorders among livestock animals across various districts of Tamil Nadu-Thanjavur, Kanchipuram, Madurai, Trichy, Namakkal through a single toll free number 1962. Guru Nanak Jayanti (14 November) Guru Nanak Jayanti or Gurupurab is one of the most revered days observed by the Sikh community to glorify the tenets of Sikhism. Guru Nanak Jayanti commemorates the birth of Guru Nanak, the first Sikh Guru. This auspicious day is celebrated across the world by devout Sikhs with great fervor and spirit, asserting the message of morality, hard-work and truth inherent in the preachings of Guru Nanak. World Hello Day (21 November) World Hello Day encourages us to take the opportunity to greet people and recognize how important simple communication is in our daily lives. This day was founded in 1973 by Brian McCormack, a PhD graduate from Arizona State University and Michael McCormack, a graduate from Harvard University, in response to the Yom Kippur War to show the people, especially those of the Middle East, that conflicts can and should be resolved through communication and non-violence.
