CAMP EUREKA An Enviromental Bush camp made available for Group Hire by the Camp Eureka Working Collective Incorporated. Camp Eureka provides a unique venue for groups looking for a friendly, bush environment. There is accommodation for groups of up to 32 people. It is maintained and operated by the Camp Eureka Working Collective, a voluntary group which is also responsible for its future development Please minimize the maintenance requirements by following the guidelines in this brochure.
General Guidelines For Campers kcare for the environment make sure the Camp is left clean and tidy. khuts to be kept and left in clean condition. ktools and equipment to be returned after use. ktoilet lids must be closed after use. kyoung children should be supervised at the creek. kfootwear is advisable at all times. kno camp fires in restricted period or candles in huts. kdogs to be kept on a lead at all times. Pre visits before confirming bookings are encouraged. The following are provided for campers... Kitchen fully equipped with: r Electric & wood stoves, cooking utensils, refrigerators, & kitchen equipment. kcutlery, crockery, glasses & mugs. ktea towels & towels for kitchen use. kcleaning products & utensils for toilets, showers & kitchen. ktoilet Rolls (extra stored in shower cupboard) The Camp also has: r Recreation Hut with Open fire & table tennis. kmassive undercover area the Mess Hut. klittle Yarra River frontage for fishing & paddling. kelectric light & power in community buildings. kfirewood supplied in Tanks behind kitchen. klaundry facilities- washing machines. kwood fired HWS for showers & kitchen. krubbish bins & recycling facilities. kunpowered sites for tents & vans.
What to bring... r All food & drinks (or Safeway in Yarra Junction) kall bedding & pillows (mattresses provided) ktorch, Gumboots in winter, Tent if preferred. What to do on arrival... r Light the stoves & HWS for hot water. Switch on required Fridges. Sleeping Accommodation r Twelve various size cabins with beds & mattresses. kmost with electric light, some with wood heating. Showers & Toilets r Light hot water services several hours before required to allow time to heat, a good fire at night should give a morning shower. kthere are two major toilet blocks near the showers & a disabled toilet near the Recreation Hut. All are Pit Toilets & work efficiently if: klids are kept shut after use. kyou clean them daily with provided brushes & disinfectant. kwash your hands after use Rubbish... Please separate all your rubbish carefully into: kfood Scraps (which may be composted.) kaluminium Cans (leave in Stockade for Recycling) krubbish bins are left at Camp gate take them to the kitchen. kthe bin with green lid is for rubbish. kthe large bin with yellow lid is for recyclable plastic and glass kdo not leave any rubbish at the Stockade return the bins to beside the gate for pickup Thursday morning. When you Leave... r Tidy and sweep all Huts. kmake sure all rubbish has been removed from the site. kclean out fridges, switch off and leave doors open. Make sure all lights are turned off.
