Richmond/ Cary Street/Route 147 south (traffic going towards River and the ) /Route 147 north (traffic going over the to the River / intersection) late summer 2012 Traffic pattern change The traffic pattern has been adjusted on Route 147, just north of the and will continue through late summer 2012. Expect delays. Cary Street/Route 147 south (traffic going towards River and the ): Traffic will remain in one lane from Three Chopt to just south of the ; where widens to two lanes. After River, there will be limited left turn lanes. There will be a dedicated right lane for River west traffic. Southbound drivers will have access to the River shopping center via entrance at the River / intersection. /Route 147 north (traffic going over the to River /Cary Street): Traffic will remain in one lane from just north of the until widens for the left turn lanes at River. In addition, the speed limit Halesworth (south of the bridge) and River / intersection (north of the bridge) has been reduced from 45 to 35 mph for the duration of the project (fall 2013). The on and off ramps from Riverside Dr. to N. (Rt. 147) will be through June 2012. When traveling from Richmond to Riverside Dr. the detour is as follows: Old Spring to Southampton, to back to Riverside Drive. When traveling from Riverside Drive to the detour is as follows: Riverside Drive, Southampton to Cherokee Richmond/ Westham Station and Old Lane Early 2012. Detour in place. Doswell (Route 688) bridge over Little River ( Old Ridge and Mt. Hope Church ) has been restricted to 3 tons until further notice for bridge. Trucks and heavy equipment should use an alternate route. Lunenburg/ Mecklenburg Dixie (Route 621) from Longview Drive (Rt. 602) to Rt. 1 Lunenburg Rt. 600 Blackstone and Fletcher Chapel New Kent Rt. 600 bridge over Ware Creek Dec. through Nov. repair work Pipe way failure The bridge will be on Dixie (Route 621) from Longview Drive (Rt. 602) to Rt. 1 for emergency through Dec.. Motorists should follow posted detour and use alternate routes. Route 600 will be Blackstone and Fletcher Chapel through Nov. for a pipe. Use detour. The Route 600 bridge over Ware Creek is due to a roadway failure. Repairs to the dam are needed before the bridge can reopen. Please use the following detour route: Right on Rt. 601 to Rt. 705, then right on Rt. 705 to Rt. 30. Petersburg Route 460 east and Hickory Hill (Route 109) fall summer 2012 Travel lanes reduced to 10 feet BRAC traffic improvement The travel lanes will be reduced to 10 feet on Route 460 the Norfolk Southern Railroad overpass (through fall ) and just east of the intersection at Jamestown and on Hickory Hill (Route 109) north/south one half mile south of the intersection at Breckenridge Avenue and Route 460 (summer 2012). There will be periodic closures and detours (exact dates will be announced when available) for signals, asphalt, curb and gutter installation to accommodate increased traffic due to BRAC-related growth at Fort Lee.
