He looked around and saw nothing. He kept on creeping and again heard Jesus is watching you. In a dark corner he saw a cage with a parrot inside. The burglar asked the parrot Was it you who said Jesus is watching me. The parrot replied Yes. Relieved the burglar asked what s your name. The parrot replied Clarence. The burglar replied. That s a stupid name for a parrot. What idiot named you Clarence? The parrot answered The same idiot that named the Rottweiler Jesus. Bill Shorten (Party leader of the Australian Labor Party) was seated next to a little girl on a QANTAS flight so he turned to her and said, "Do you want to talk? Flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger." The little girl, who had just started to read her book, replied to what she thought was a total stranger, "What would you want to talk about?" "Oh, I don't know," said Bill. "How about global WAGGA WAGGA VETERAN & VINTAGE MOTOR CLUB INC THE FAMILY CLUB - Page 3

warming, universal health care, or stimulus packages?" as he smiled smugly. "OK," she said. "Those could be interesting topics but let me ask you a question first. A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same stuff - grass. Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, but a horse produces clumps. Why do you suppose that is?" Originally from Hay, NSW. Purchased in April, 2001 from Junee, for $200. Bill, visibly surprised by the little girl's intelligence, thinks about it and says, "Hmmm, I have no idea." To which the little girl replies, "Do you really feel qualified to discuss global warming, universal health care, or the economy, when you don't know sh--?" And then she went back to reading her book. How many makes can you identify in this 1930 s wrecking yard in America? Source indicates: Front row is Chrysler 58, HCS, Jewett and Dodge. The rest are difficult to pick but there is a Maxwell, Hudson, Buick and Essex in there as well. BELATED CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR WISHES Twas the night before Christmas and out in the shed, Sat a tired old Morris, it's battery dead. It's wings were rusted, the floor pans had holes, the seats and carpets had been eaten by voles. The tyres had dry rot, the fuel tank was leaking, a turn of the steering wheel sent tie rods a-creaking. So I put on my coat with a weight on my heart, and went out to the shed to get it to start. The engine turned over-there arose such a clatter! I knew from the sound, "timing chain chatter". From under the dash there came a bright flash: the wiring harness had just turned to ash! "I've had it with the Morris!" I finally swore. "Enough is too much! I can't take any more!" When what to my red, teary eyes should appear, but a little Englishman (hey, I might need a beer!) "Good day," I heard, as he tapped on my shoulder, "I'm Joe Lucas" he said as the car continued to smoulder. "This one can be saved; there's no reason to grieve. All you need is some faith man, you've got to believe! WAGGA WAGGA VETERAN & VINTAGE MOTOR CLUB INC THE FAMILY CLUB - Page 6

"A hammer! Some duct tape! Get me some tools! When you work on these cars, just make up the rules! "We'll get her cranked over - no way that she'll stall ( but stand over there with your back to the wall)." A cough and a splutter, the cacophony stunning, I couldn't believe it! The damn thing was running! The ghost winked at me and said, kicking a tyre, "Whatever you do, DO NOT TOUCH THIS WIRE!" The old man then vanished amid sneezes and farts, but when the smoke cleared he had left me some parts. So I opened the shed door and let the top down, put pedal to metal and went in to town. And I thought to myself as I crunched second gear- Merry Christmas to all and Happy New Year.
