Originally, in 1890, a 40 by 100-foot livery stable was built. It was the leading and most up-to-date livery stable of its kind and was owned by Louie Knobloch, a well known farmer of the county who also conducted an automobile service. This was the place where people congregated and discussed the events of the day. The livery stable employed several stable men and grooms, and careful drivers were furnished on all occasions when required. Then after the turn of the century it was converted into the Tomah Theatre. Finally, in 1960, it became the home of the Tee Pee Supper Club, and as always, this spot on Superior Avenue is the gathering place for Tomah residents and its visitors.
