GREEK ISLES CRUISE & EUROPE Including The Passion Play of Oberammergau 11 Days: September 23 - October 3, 2020 Visiting Athens Mykonos Ephesus Patmos Crete Santorini Corinth Munich Salzburg Hosted By Pastor James Humann $4699 per person from New York (Air/land tour price is $4099 plus $600 government taxes/airline surcharges.)

Dear Friends, It is with great pleasure and excitement that I invite you to join me on an 11 Days Greece, Greek Isles, Austria and Germany tour with a once in a lifetime opportunity to attend the world famous Passion Play in 2020 in Oberammergau, Germany. The villagers of Oberammergau first performed the play in 1634 in fulfillment of their promise to God for sparing them from the Black Plague, and it has been presented there every 10 years since then. We begin our trip in Greece, the cradle of western civilization, with a three night cruise on the beautiful Aegean Sea. Visit ports of call like Mykonos, the St. Tropez of the Aegean; Heraklion, Crete, the southernmost Greek isle; Santorini, with its spectacular volcanic cliffs; Kusadasi, which is the gateway to the magnificent city of Ephesus; and Patmos, where St. John was inspired to write the Book of Revelation. Next, we ll journey to the music city of Salzburg, one of the world s most beautiful cities and the city of Mozart s birth. We ll explore Munich, the capital of Bavaria and view Neuschwanstein, King Ludwig s fairy tale castle. And, of course, we will experience the unique atmosphere of this region and its people as we travel to Oberammergau for the highlight of our trip the world famous Passion Play. The price of our tour includes roundtrip airfare from New York City, first class/select hotels, guesthouses in Oberammergau, most meals, admission tickets for the Passion Play, the services of a professional tour director and sightseeing in a deluxe motorcoach. We look forward to having you join us on this trip of a lifetime. It promises to be a wonderful experience for all, with time to enjoy the fellowship of old friends and new. Nawas International Travel is making the arrangements for us and has earned a reputation for reliability and excellence in their near 70 years of business. While the year 2020 seems a long way away, NOW is the time to make plans and reserve your place on the tour as space is limited. Don t miss out on this opportunity to see the Passion Play and experience the history, culture and remarkable scenery of Greece, the Greek Isles and some of Europe s most beautiful and historic cities! Sincerely, Pastor James Humann TOUR FEATURES Round trip airfare from New York. $600 Government taxes/airline surcharges. First class (Category 1) admission tickets to Passion Play. Accommodations at first class/select hotels, based on two persons sharing in twin-bedded rooms with private bath. Hotels and guest houses are used in Oberammergau. Accommodations on the cruise in inside cabins with two lower beds and private facilities. Breakfast daily plus 4 dinners on land portion and all meals on board the cruise with a standard drinks package. Services of a professional English-speaking tour director. Comprehensive sightseeing throughout. All hotel service charges, value added taxes, porterage where available and entrance fees per itinerary. $100,000 automatic flight insurance.* *Subject to policy terms and limitations. YOUR DAY BY DAY ITINERARY WED, SEP 23 NEW YORK/ACROSS THE ATLANTIC Depart from New York on board your overnight transatlantic jet flight to Athens. THU, SEP 24 ARRIVE ATHENS Arrive Athens, cradle of civilization, where you will be met and escorted to your waiting motor coach for transfer to your hotel. FRI, SEP 25 ATHENS/PIRAEUS/MYKONOS Drive to Piraeus and board your cruise ship for a threeday Aegean Sea cruise. Sail to sunny Mykonos where the houses, streets, and even the sails of the windmills are all awash with white. Relax at a sidewalk cafe or taverna. Sail on to Kusadasi. SAT, SEP 26 KUSADASI (EPHESUS)/PATMOS (D) Arrive at the Turkish resort of Kusadasi, where you will have an excursion to the magnificent city of Ephesus. You will walk the marble streets and see the fabled Temple of Artemis, another Wonder of the Ancient World, the Stadium and the Library of Celsus. Afterwards, cruise to the island of Patmos, where you will visit the Monastery of St. John where John received inspiration for the Book of Revelation. Sail on to Heraklion, Crete. (B,L,D)

SUN, SEP 27 HERAKLION (CRETE)/SANTORINI Morning arrival in Heraklion, Crete, the southernmost of the Greek Isles where an optional sightseeing tour is available to the Palace of Knossos, discovered in 1900 by Arthur Evans. This was the kingdom of King Minos, the site of the legendary Minotaur, later slain by Theseus, and you can see the underground corridors of the Labyrinth. Then sail to Santorini, one of the most fascinating islands in the Aegean, with its rugged, volcanic cliffs topped by brilliant white houses in the town of Thera. The view from the town is spectacular, looking down into the beautiful bay to the still active volcanic island only a few miles away. Return to your cruise ship for the journey back to Athens. (B,L,D) MON, SEP 28 ARRIVE ATHENS/CORINTH/ATHENS Disembark your ship in Piraeus and return to Athens for a city tour. Your visit will include the Royal Palace, the Stadium and Temple of Zeus, the Theatre of Dionysius, Mars Hill, the Acropolis with the famous Parthenon, the Agora (marketplace) where Paul spoke and Socrates prison. This afternoon drive along the Sacred Way of Eleusinian Mysteries, passing the Island of Salamis. Cross the Corinth Canal, connecting the Aegean and Ionian Seas. See the Isthmus where boats were once dragged over land from one sea to the other. Arrive Corinth, the most important city in the days of St. Paul. The vigorous and mostly Gentile Church he founded here in 50 AD caused him much grief and prompted him to write at least two letters to them. Visit the ruins of the ancient city where St. Paul worked with Aquila and Priscilla. See the remains of first century shops, the agora where St. Paul s trial by Gallio took place, the Fountain of Peirene, Temple of Apollo and the Bema. Return to Athens for the night. TUE, SEP 29 ATHENS/MUNICH/SALZBURG Transfer to the airport for your flight to Munich, Germany. Travel through spectacular Alpine scenery and cross the border into Austria. Continue to the music city of Salzburg. (B) WED, SEP 30 SALZBURG/OBERAMMERGAU Salzburg is one of the world s most beautiful cities. Featured in the movie The Sound of Music, it will always be remembered as Mozart s birthplace. On a city tour see the Mozarteum (house where Mozart lived) and visit the Church of the Franciscans and the Altarmarkt in the heart of the Old Town. This afternoon drive to Oberammergau, site of the world famous Passion Play. THU, OCT 1 THE PASSION PLAY OF OBERAMMERGAU The highlight of your trip! In keeping with their 387-year old promise, the villagers of Oberammergau present their Passion Play depicting the last week of the life of Christ. The play s presentation can be traced to 1633 when the Black Plague swept Europe. The people of Oberammergau took a solemn oath: if God spared them, they would present a day-long play depicting the last week in the life of Christ. To this day they have kept their promise and every ten years the citizens of Oberammergau perform their passion play with the same love and devotion they have shown for over 380 years. Today the play takes place on an open-air stage with a covered auditorium seating 4700, against a beautiful backdrop of towering Alpine mountains. FRI, OCT 2 OBERAMMERGAU/MUNICH A word about NAWAS... On a panoramic tour, view Mad King Ludwig s fairy-tale Neuschwanstein Castle, one of the most photographed palaces in the world and the model for the castles at the Walt Disney theme parks. Next, proceed to Munich, capital of Germany s Bavaria region. Munich was ruled for over 650 years by the Wittelsbacher dukes and kings, who left their mark on the architecture and founded the world famous Munich art collection. On a city tour see Marienplatz, Munich s town square, and view Nymphenburg, the former Royal Residence; Odeon Square with the beautiful Theatiner Church; and the Hall of Generals. Overnight in the Munich area. SAT, OCT 3 MUNICH/NEW YORK All too soon your adventure is over as you transfer to the airport to board your return flight to New York, arriving the same day.
